For anyone who is interested (k9fan?) Broadchurch series 2 starts on Monday 5th January on ITV with the delectable Arthur Darville, late of Doctor Who, and the even more delectable David Tennant, otherwise known as the 10th Doctor.

Can't wait, personally.

You're welcome.

At least two of us are happy.

Maybe I'll see you on the programme thread in the TV forum when it starts.

Don't forget the other DW cast member joining Arthur and David in Broadchurch: Olivia Coleman.
She was the comatose lady whom Prisoner Zero morphs into in 'Eleventh Hour'.

They should just go ahead and do a 'Broadchurch'/'Doctor Who' crossover.... DI Hardy (Tenant) discovers that DS Miller (Coleman) is actually a shape-shifting alien criminal and enlists Reverend Coats' (Darvill) help to track her down. During the investigation, Hardy reveals he isn't really a Scottish police inspector, but a Timelord from the planet Gallifrey.

Well as I see it the thread title is technically correct as they were both in the first Broadchurch.

And, no doubt, in a whole shedload of dodgy fan-fiction

Series one featured David Bradley, if we're after DW connections. And didn't Chris Chibnall write some DW too?

Anyhow, more Broadchurch is thrilling news. Series one was one of the TV highlights of the last couple of years for me.

The US version hasn't faired so well. Sounds like it'll all be wrapped up after one season.

I wonder how they will continue from where the last episode finished, if it will be an easy transition. Looking forward to the new series as I found the last series interesting viewing

I thought it was excellent. Martha's mum was in it (very briefly) and Gwen from Torchwood. Who wasn't quite as annoying as she was in Torchwood. I still hope she gets murdered, though. Not because she's likely to, just because I always hope that when I see her.

Watched it with my family, all Who fans, and we had fun pointing out people that've been in Dr Who. The Doctor, Olivia Coleman, Rory, Martha's mum, Gwen from Torchwood and the Unquiet Dead. Half expected to spot a Cyberman make a cameo on the beach haha!

Maybe it's stretching things a bit, but I enjoyed the line "what's the point of you?!"

I caught up with it last night and thought it was really good. I did smile when Eve Myles showef up and glad she wasn't married to David Tennants character. She's definitely not whiter than white so you may get your wish Granny.

Too bad the US series (Gracepoint) wasn't accepted as well as Broadchurch. It was good, Tennant was terrific, but I find US audience are more into body-beautiful and action-action. In my opinion they usually ruin the british shows when doing a remake. Mind you, in this case they did a great job with Gracepoint I think, so probably as much as I prefer the british flavor of TV shows, I suspect the US audience does not. I am loving Broadchurch.

I am just thankful they never try to do a remake of Dr. Who and hope the writers stay away from trying to Americanize Dr. Who - ever! jmo.

David just picked up the People's Choice Award for Favourite Actor in a New TV Series. People's Choice is basically the US version of the National Television Awards, so he must have been doing something right!

Is Gracepoint worth a watch and, if so, do you know where I can get it (is it on Netflix)?

Yes, Tennant always does things right in my book! I didn't mean to give the impression that Gracepoint wasn't done well. Just that the American audience looks for other things or ambience maybe. I don't watch much American TV. Find it too superficial in a lot of shows.

I found Gracepoint worth the watch even though I had already watched Broadchurch. They changed the ending somewhat but that was fine too.
Even if I had not watched Broadchurch I would have enjoyed Gracepoint (or maybe its just that I am such a Tennant fan lol).

I think you can find it on the PBS website but probably not on Netflix yet.

Maybe the reason it wasn't picked up for a 2nd season in US is because probably most people had already watched Broadchurch on their local PBS channel. I am in Canada and that's how I watched it.

Anyway I am now watching Broadchurch 2nd season and I think it is going to be pretty terrific.
