Because the majority of the other candidates were worse.

His inane grinning is annoying, granted, but he's not that bad in business terms.

I'm sad to say I struggle to form any opinion on him.
If he were to win I'd be like "Oh, okay then" ![]() If he were to get fired I'd be like "Oh, okay then"

The mechanical and boring answer is that he's only been in the final BR once (in Week 2, Wearable Technology), and wasn't really as culpable for the loss of that task as either of the others with him.
He's primarily been in the background and under the radar, but has made some positive contributions (co-branding with Roisin on the last task, ticket selling strategy in the Coach Tours task, salvage of Bianca's exclusivity error by managing to get some board game sales to Waterstones in the board game task). He's never really stood out as being strikingly good or bad overall - probably more good than bad in practice, but that has to be weighted against the fact we've seen relatively little of him - and whilst he comes off as being a bit juvenile at times he's never really harmed the team on task. I'm not such a fan of the fact he's avoided responsibility as much as possible, bar wanting to take the branding on in the last task, but it's a good strategy that works in terms of raw progression; 2 of the 3 new-format winners were serial PM dodgers... and there's a 3/5 chance this series' winner will be one too. |

Initially, he reminded me of Nick Holzherr, another likeable techie guy who was given the same under the radar edit.
But looking back now, I think Nick was far more competent than Solly. |

Hes done a whole lot more than Bianca. He might not be the biggest alpha male, or ballsy salesman but you dont need to be in business. He's creative, tactical and likeable. A team player and could well win. It all really depends on the business plans rather than personality now.

I think it's pretty obvious he must have a good business plan - if that's not the case I don't see how he's still there - he's been winging it all the way through. Very similar to the Tom winner (nail file guy).
TBH - Since it's been about business partners rather than employees the Apprentice has become a bit farcical. They simply supply 'characters' - Mark has bee4n set up for a spectacular downfall at interviews (IMO) - can't wait for that incidentally. |

In fairness, we thought that about Ricky a few years ago, and he performed very well at interviews, went on to win and is now an interviewer himself.

Yes he was PM of that task where they had to film
some videos and get YouTube hits. His team won. Sugar assigned the position of PM for that task to Solomon. Prior to that, and since then, he's been a serial PM dodger. |

I reckon his BP massively appeals to Sugar If he really is defent then it hasn't been seen much in the edit. I think he's been fairly average at best.He seems far too innocent to be an entrepreneur. There's no fire, no get up and go. All I can think of is him looking sheepish when they filmed the advert in New York. Everybody else in casual clothes, but Solomon was in a long sleeved shirt with a tie, like his mum had dressed him. |

The only success I could ever see for him is if they ever do a remake of "The Goons Show" |

The fact is Solomon has only been in the boardroom firing line up once. So Sugar has hardly been given the choice of firing or saving him. There's no reason to suppose it's his business plan keeping him in. He's been on the winning team 4 out of the last 5.

Underneath his fairly immature exterior I believe he has an intuitively smart brain. He's shown this several times by making shrewd decisions as peolle have already mentioned. I mean, if Daniel can reach the final five then why not Solomon?

Are you kidding - and - by your own words his "inane grinning is annoying" how is it possible for him to succeed in a business world ?
The only success I could ever see for him is if they ever do a remake of "The Goons Show" Also this thread could apply to Roisin too... In my opinion, Soloman has done pretty well in regards to selling, ideas, and some decision making. Just because he hasnt been in arguments and drama doesnt mean he hasnt done much... I cant think much of what Bianca has done |
