He wasn't very good at the start and now he is decent, but he is still the weakest dancer left by far.

Mark is a good dancer - (I think Simon is better - just IMO) and has improved a lot.. He just divides opinion due to some of those silly VTs that they have shown. Also the tears and moaning about all the work he has on grates when a lot of the others have/had work on also e.g. Pixie, Simon, Jake. it is also obvious on ITT that Zoe is strongly supporting him and emphasizing that he 'has had no previous training'

Caroline and Frankie have had previous training also - I don't think either Simon or Jake have had.

Too much self promotion by Mark leaves me with the feeling - all front & no substance. Simon, Jake, Frankie & Caroline all seem to have some depth to them.

Simon will have worked with a choreographer before with Blue (Nothing too complicated, although I doubt his rather downplaying description of it as just him standing there shrugging his shoulder is accurate...) and I would imagine when he was male lead in Sister Act : The Musical in the West End. I've not seen it but...it's Sister Act, I'm sure everyone gets up and has a great big hoof at one point.

Not much, but I'm sure if someone on the forum with a vendetta was so minded it would have been blown up to far more...

I have always liked Mark since before strictly so wanted him to do well but I didn't expect him to be as good as he is in week one I thought he would be out first but he has proved me wrong I also think Karen is one of the best teachers in strictly so well done to both of them

I'm sorry but I have to disagree- Jake is the weakest dancer left by far, and some others have spotted that. Mark has actually improved a lot since the start, and he's done his best to learn the technique- so well done to Karen for teaching him well. I hope he survives tonight and gets to the final- he deserves to.
Oh and I can't believe some people earlier in this thread were criticising Mark (&Karen, and Kevin) for looking happy or 'celebrating' when they get called safe. Honestly?! Is there nothing he can do right in some eyes? Haven't people seen Jannette going bananas (on Jake's behalf) every time they get through? Most people look happy when they are called safe- even Pixie looked pleased as punch when her name was called in the past! Not a crime....

There's a male lead in Sister Act?!

Some nuns are hiding more than raw Gospel talent under those habits...

Sadly, there are some in here who will always look for something about Mark to find fault with. Because he dared to express genuine joy at getting through last week, one character in here described him as having no class or manners, just how petty and small minded can you get!

Mark's barefoot Rhumba could go either way tonight, it could be sensational or a disaster. Whatever happens at least he made it to the semi finals, and I certainly won't be spitting my dummy out if he does go, unlike some in here last weekend.

I just hope that all of his supporters will be voting for him.

Well I must be 'petty' and 'small minded' because I do think it's rather tasteless expressing over the top jubilation when others are in possible danger awaiting to hear their fate. To me it's the equivalent of behaving in an ostentatious way waving your money about in front of poor people.

I'm rooting for Mark. He has improved a lot and is so eager to learn. He's been the biggest surprise to me this series, I hope he makes it to the finale. And I'm glad he/Karen don't hold back when they're saved, I doubt anyone is offended at all from the other contestants.

Still has less hip action than Jake but is a better ballroom dancer. So both starting from allegedly no dance background they are about equal.

Only in the final number (for the males anyway). There isn't that much before that and if it was Eddie he played he literally has a saunter across the stage as the extent of his dancing.
