How much improvement due to cell breathing will there be on MBNL masts? Perhaps I'm just a little slow tonight but won't the effect only be fully felt when both Three and EE upgrade to 4g because the 3g is shared so closely, although EE do have the greater market share by a massive margin.

Having said that, although cell breathing gets mentioned a lot, in practice it isn't really much of a problem for any of the operators. |

3G already improving. Several here have mentioned it and I have noticed it too.
It's bound to happen. If EE have nearly 50% on 4G then all those users on a particular cell are going to offload a huge amount of traffic from 3G. The result? That 3G cell will spend more and more of it's time transmitting it's maximum coverage footprint. Course, it's not happened on my mast yet as there is no bloody 4G. Edging towards 3 years from launch now. I'm going to be 97 before I see it I think!! As of yet I have not see any improvements, but it is early days. Saying that 3G is not too bad here with Voda, certainly better than the other networks. We will see what happens once 4G really take of around here, I suppose it depends how many people have a 4G phone and if their contract covers 4G. I had a email from vodafone about updating my contract and my phone to 4G, something I have no interest in doing, I will still with my Nexus 4 until it goes belly up. |

I should think there is enough smartphones out there now to give two to each person in the UK.
