So in order to prolong her shelf life as a dancer she's thrown herself down a mountain with two planks of wood attached to her feet. Sensible.

James seems to do nothing but play golf nowadays according to his Twitter feed!
Perhaps he could do a bit more?
He is still a dance teacher but at his going rate of £400 for 40 minutes I'm guessing pupils aren't queing up!

Poor Ola, lets hope there is some tabloid exaggeration, but ski injuries are dangerous. If you fall in the wrong way.
Our next door neighbours son fell awkwardly off his bike going over a small speed bump and has completely wrecked his ankle.
I am surprised Jump is going ahead with a second series, seems so dangerous for the celebs.

Yay! *badum* *tish*
They will only have started her on some beginners downhill skiing on the dry slopes you know.

I'm amazed that she was able to do this, though - surely she's contracted to SCD until the series finishes next week, and presumably there'd be a clause in there about working for competitors at the same time, especially when it could jeopardise fulfillment of her SCD contract? I know contracts for sportspersons (which rely on them being physically fit in order to fulfill their contractual obligations) often include a clause that bans participation in extreme sports (which ski-jumping arguably is) for the duration of the contract.”

This is what has me confused as well, Strictly isn't over for the year yet and while some of the pro dances may be pre recorded, the final isn't and she would have to be making a reappearance with Steve surely?

Wishing her a swift recovery nonetheless.

I really hope that this is just newspaper exaggeration. Fingers crossed for her to make a full recovery. She's young and super fit so has everything going for her

She was supposed to be dancing with Aljaz in the pro routine this weekend.

I wonder if this wasn't actual training with The Jump and she decided to get some private training in before it all official starts.

it was a risky choice, and she might live to regret it. However, that wasn't my point - I was replying to your suggestion that she was endlessly chasing fame - I think securing an income might have more to do with it. I'm speaking as one who would miss Ola the least if she left (not a big fan). However, I think it's easy for those of us who have a regular salary to sit on our computers accusing dancers of chasing fame and being stupid if they have an accident, I think securing an income post SCD must be quite a challenge (in the long term to take you to retirement) especially if you're getting on a bit in dancing years and Ola might have been tempted by a reasonable lump sum being offered as she has to think about getting by in the future with periods of no work. It was a risky choice and hindsight might tell us it was the wrong one, but I don't see the need for calling her fame hungry and stupid.

I came off a bicycle in March fracturing my elbow and still can't smash in Badminton. It takes a while to heal. And she needs to be fit.

I would think it was during private practice which she (or James) decided on. Her current contract is with SCD and she wouldn't be able to participate in anything officially to do with "The Jump" until that contract ended next week.

If she has decided to get some early practice in for herself, then she's a silly girl - it could even void her contract with the BBC. I'm sure there are some very strict conditions written into it on what they can and can't do whilst employed on the series. Even some "ordinary" jobs have conditions written into their contracts.

If she is unable to take part today because of something she's done, I'm sure the BBC lawyers will be already looking at the terms of her contract.

It is a bit of a stretch to try and blame James if Ola decided to take on private practice. Ola doesn't strike me as the type of person who would let anyone tell her to do something she wasn't 100% willing to do. Last year's contestants were training on Hemel Hemptead's ski slope from November, so I would assume it is the same this year.

However, I do agree that it seems a bit foolhardy for a professional dancer to take part in something like The Jump.

I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

James has not tweeted anything, which is unusual for him.

This is precisely why my dance teacher hated skiing and all related sports. I hope she recovers quickly and there is no lasting damage.

Who's trying to blame James? Not me.

We know they usually work as a couple and he's very protective and ambitious for her. All I'm saying is they could have agreed she could get some early practice in.

Nobody from Strictly has mentioned it on twitter at all, and quite a few of them have been tweeting this morning, bit odd I thought.

I would imagine as a dancer, she already carries a fair few niggles and knocks in the joints, especially the knees, hips and ankles? Taking part in a programme which puts you up against sports which also put a lot of strain on the same jonts seems a bit reckless - especially if the performing at dancing is still part of your work load - aren't her and James booked for exhibition work into next year? It's also not going to help any chance of a dance based programme with Arlene said/hoped to be on the cards and the money earning dance lessons could be reduced.

But hopefully it's just tabloid spin and its a pack of peas over the Ugg boot situation.

A lot of the golf James plays is for charity. My best friend's husband has caddied for him twice in a local charity pro celeb event, so they got chatting. They've both met Ola too as she was at both events. My friend and her husband think they are a lovely couple - Both very friendly and open, no diva complexes. James is not nearly as gobby as the media makes out and Ola looks lovely in real life too. Got photos somewhere.

Ola is injured badly enough to withdraw from Jump, but I hope the injury isn't as bad as the Mirror makes out.

I hope the reports of her injuries are exaggerated but I cannot believe she was daft enough to sign up for something that could stop her dancing & losing her main source of income.

I am loath to join in a James Jordan pile-on (lol) but I will just say that maybe this will show him what a reality show that really does show absolutely no interest in the wellbeing of the people who participate looks like.

hope this isn't true, or is at least exaggerated. it would be a real tragedy for anyone to have their career endangered by an accident.

Wishing Ola well of course....but anyone know who will replace her in the Pro group numbers? Crystal Main one of the dancers in Brendans show would do a fab job

Agreed but it is the world of 'Reality Television' (as well as the Jordans) so you never know just how much to believe.

I will firstly say I am sorry Ola had an accident and wish her a speedy recovery. However, hurtling oneself down a ski slope (as a professional dancer) just seems terribly reckless to me.

I appreciate she has to pay her mortgage, but if her dancing career is at an end soon, why not take up employment in another area, perhaps teaching or any other job that will pay her bills. What do other ex pro dancers do?

This chasing fame aspect really gets on my nerves.
