Thursday 26th March 2015
FIFA1966

The day he returned 10 years ago, a lot has changed, will happen next year.

So, how will everyone celebrate this milestone?

I would hope the bbc will screen a celebratory programme of sorts. Also a re run of all the episodes from rose to last Christmas to tie in with the 1st episode of series 9.

Doubtful they'd find time to repeat all the episodes. bbc three might if it still exists by then. I dont know if it would even be officially classed it as an important milestone really as the 50th was 50 years since the start of the whole show where as 2015 is only an anniversary of it being continued again.

I think it would be nice, and fitting to the milestone but not a milestone type nature of the occasion if they did a 'quieter' multi doctor type story like the two doctors. No epic grand stakes adventure, just a normal story where two or three incarnations (meaning obviously Capaldi with either smith, tennant or both) just happen to intersect and have to save the day together, or maybe one has to save the other (like a past one has to save his future or Capaldi finds out someone is meddling with his past so has to save his earlier self in order to maintain his current self.)

Interesting to think back to the classic series at 10 years:
• Three Doctors
• about 16 companions (depending on your point of view)
• a change to colour
• a TARDIS set which had remained mostly the same
• three different opening credits
• one of the most watched TV shows of the week

And the new series 10th anniversary:
• Four Doctors (five if you include the ‘War Doctor’)
• about 16 companions (depending on your point of view)
• a change to HD and a one-off 3D episode
• three completely different TARDIS sets
• four different opening credits
• one of the most watched TV shows of the week

I just want to either see a simple mini-some like Time Crash having 11 and 12

OR

News that Russell T Davis will write an episode for Series 9

OR

A 45 minute special looking back at the 10 years,

Red Nose Day next year is 13th March, so you never know, something special might pop up as part of that?

I do remember Steven saying that there won't be any celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the show returning, but then Who knows?

I pretty much doubt that he is leaving because no official announcement has been made.

I'd have thought Watch might do something. They're showing all the Christmas episodes on the 27th - and for some reason today they repeated this 'farewell to Matt Smith' thing that was on when he left. They'll probably repeat the lot somewhere along the line, but I think it's all on pretty much on a loop anyway.
