A Couple of Queries
VesperVent

Just wondering peoples thoughts on a few things:

1) If Robin hadn't had an injury and had to be replaced by Trent, would he have been paired with Pixie?! Surely I can't see that as being a partnership... How would the pairings have changed somewhat?

2) I was looking at some of this seasons DWTS videos, and was watching one couple perform a Jazz routine to 'America' from West Side Story. But there were serious legal issues involved which meant they could not replicate in any fashion the moves from the movie. Yet, when Frankie and Kevin performed this in Movie Week, not only was this not mentioned, but they also did replicate some of the moves. Wondering why is was a big deal in America but not in the UK?!

In answer to your questions.

1. If Robin hadn't had to be replaced by Trent then yes the pairings would probably have been different. I could have seen Jennifer with Robin and Pixie with Tristan or even Kevin.

2. Re the West Side Story thing - I have no idea. Although copyright law is different in the States than over here so this could have been the issue.

I suspect Tristan would have been put with Jennifer regardless due to the "Oirish" angle.

May have been Brendan with Pixie & Sunetra with Robin.

1. Wouldn't like to comment on who would be paired with whom because we don't know the criteria for the decisions, except that Anton always gets the older woman.

2. Most probably because copyright laws are very different in the USA compared to here. For instance for books here the copyright automatically exists for 70 years during the lifetime and for 70 years after the death of an author. In the USA it's complicated depending on when a book was written. It used to be anything published before 1923 was in the public domain. As of 1st January 2014 that still applies but for anything written between then up to 1977 copyright had to be applied for and it gets even more complicated the closer you get to 2014. Copyright lawyers will never be out of business in the USA.

And were the BIB true, and Brendan knew that, maybe that is what contributed to his season long mardy-pout.

Actually, it would've been nice to see Robin with a potentially good dancer like Pixie, as he often seems to get lumbered with the 'fun but not much good' contestants.

I suspect muscly Robin would have been partnered with Alison, this year's larger lady. Which makes me wonder who might have been paired with Aljaz? unless the idea of Team Ali-Alj tickled their fancies so much that this pairing was pre-ordained.
