Those are currently cheaper than the equivalent unlimited fibre + line rental + phone packages from Sky, so yes, by adding SS1&2 via BT TV I can save about, or more than, £20 a month. If Sky up their game in a year's time, I shall consider switching back to them. Ahhhh the pleasures of true competition...
![]() For that to be true you would have to receive line rental and bb for almost FREE... ![]() Original + Sports cost £46 -£20 (your claimed saving) -£22 ... which leaves £4 to cover your line rental and BB required for you to get Sky sports through BT. Line rental and BB are NOT required to get Sky Sports from Sky. Both line rental and BB are significantly more expensive from BT. Make us jealous and tell how much you are paying for line rental and BB... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Your claim was you were getting Sky sports for £20 less than you were paying Sky.

Competition lets us pick and choose to find better combinations of services that suit us individually, in other words, competition is king. What is most cost effective for me by £20 to £30 a month is what I am now able to do, thanks to SS 1 & 2 being wholesaled to BT TV. |

Must have been a disappointment to add so few games to the current total...
![]() Still, you won't mind your subscription going up every year to pay footballers wages, will you?

What I said was "About £20 a month gained for me." As I want and need 76 Mbps fibre (for the 19 Mbps upload speeds) and the cost of that from BT is less than from Sky ( http://www.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/fibre-optic/ ) for me, my saving by using the BT route is in fact more than £20, nearer £30 i
Hopefully that will end with the conclusion of Ofcom's VULA consultation...

Perhaps the best we can hope for is BT (and the others) to successfully bid for the lions share of Premier League, which would subsequently see Sky's dominance diminish and for them to drop their wholesale prices and platform restrictions for the greater good of the entire industry.

Not really. How many billion did Sky pay again?...
Still, you won't mind your subscription going up every year to pay footballers wages, will you? ![]() ![]() Well that hope got blown out of the water when BT had to redirect £6 Billion to cover the mismanagement of their pension fund...

An advantage that BT have achieved by margining squeezing and passing on costs by overcharging on wholesale prices.

Surely you were disapointed even though you will not admit it...
![]() Well that hope got blown out of the water when BT had to redirect £6 Billion to cover the mismanagement of their pension fund... ![]() From next season BT will be the only TV broadcaster that shows all the major competitions featuring premier league teams (premier league, champions league, fa cup and Europa) |
