The one nobody can remember....
I hope 1D look a bit more cheerful tomorrow than they did at the Royal Variety show. I understand that they must be sick and tired of touring and performing together when they clearly hate each other but they're supposed to be perfomers - put on a show, lads, pretend to be enjoying yourselves fgs.

Know what you mean. They look like they have had enough of each other. Harry stands or sits apart from the rest of them.

Don't know what you are on about. They were fantastic at the a Royal Variety show. The single is doing great as well.

I think you are confusing a slow song with emotion plus nerves for the RVP with a happy song with lots of hand clapping etc. Did you think Ed Sheeran looked bored tonight? Because he didn't look too happy but then you wouldn't with that type of song!

No I'm not confusing anything. I'm talking about my impression of a band that showed zero connection with anything - not the song, not with each other, just nothing except 'oh it's my turn to sing and look at the camera'. Sorry, but that's how it came across to me. I've nothing against them. They sounded pretty good and that Zach (?) turned out to be proper gorgeous! I felt sad for them in all honesty.

It's Zayn and he looks proper unhappy. The thing is that if they wanted out they have all made enough money to call a halt. They have all made about £15 mill so they are not short of £. Yeah Zayn, sorry. He is an exceptionally good looking guy, I'm sure he'll find some way to earn a living... I don't really know much about them to be honest. I just found it all a bit sad to watch and was wondering what kind of contract they're signed up to. Maybe they CAN'T quit yet no matter how much they would like to. I don't know, it felt uncomfortable to me - remembering these bright-eyed slightly spotty teenagers being so excited and sucked into a money-making machine. They look completely desolate now

That's my guess too. If it was going to be Mick Jaggar or Keith Richards they would have said their name. Charlie Watts is hardly likely to be on with someone on his own. Bill Wyman has left the band. Ronnie Wood has recently done a series on TV and he does go around guesting at places. Yes, it's fairly obvious it will be him.
I think given the chance, Zayn and Louis would be the first ones to quit without thinking for a second, they just look so tired and unhappy all the time now. The other three still look somewhat a bit cheerful when performing, but I guess Harry and Niall are the only ones who are still truly enjoying the fame.

To be fair, it does seem like a pretty common opinion now that Zayn in particular looks like he would rather be anywhere else than doing promotion.
I don't blame him, they've worked a lot since their first album and seemingly are now on a constant loop of promotion, touring, few weeks off before its time be promoting the next album and doing the next tour.

Yup. The marijuana video made it quite clear from just 5 minutes of conversation.
They've outgrown One Direction. Zayn will probably retire to a desert island.
I think Louis is just in a permanent state of shock that his minimal talent has made him a millionaire. His whole career exists on the back of the other lads who actually can sing.

I do agree that Louis doesn't have a particular strong (or pleasant) voice compared to the others. That said, Louis is actually the one that has written most songs for their last two albums, so he's not completely untalented I'd say. I'm actually more surprised at how on earth is Harry the most popular one given he doesn't have the look nor the voice. Imo Zayn is easily the star of the group based on appearance and actual talent, shame he seems least interested in what they're doing.

Don't agree. When Harry sings solo he has a very distinctive voice. Zayns was almost non existent when they first started out. So I was quite surprised when he took the leading solo last time out. Maybe he's been having lessons to give the others a break.
The Irish one ( sorry I'm getting old so can't remember his name). He sang a good solo too.
