Cheryl's album has totally flopped.
7-21-45-50
This may be a few positions out but you get the jist of the chart run.. I think she is privately concerned that her album has totally flopped. I can't believe they are not even trying to recapture the christmas sales with a third single for her? If she cant hit platinum with this records she's flopped. I think she is about 40,000 on sales. That is awful considering she XF and 2 No.1 singles as well. Maybe people dont have the faith in her anymore as an albums artist? Her last album only did 100k, do you think she can keep her record contract. I thought she'd be one of the big XMas sellers this year thanks to her XF promo... |

She should be grateful that she sold 40,000 copies. She's got no talent, dull and boring. And using X Factor

I can't stand her, but I think she's more of a singles artist (hate calling her an artist) than an album one. So many people these days survive been dropped from their record label as although their albums flop, their singles do well.

It is terrible and I'm sure everyone involved thought X Factor would help her album, but I do genuinely believe had she never made an album as bad as Messy Little Raindrops she would still be a decent album seller. I'm convinced that album turned many people off buying another album of hers.
I think she is now a singles artist and she just needs to keep pumping out singles from Only Human, she has confirmed she was going to be shooting a video last week for single 3, so they definitely aren't giving up on it. |

The BNP fan base would have lapped it up. |

She would have been better releasing an album of racist redneck material as its always better for an artist to look to their culture and family for inspiration😃

Considering she has a spot on one of the most watched UK tv shows every week, and had 2 number ones this year it is pretty shocking. I at least expected her to sell 100,000 by Christmas!

She just releases a chavvy lead single and bungs it on an album of filler. It's hardly a surprise when the album then flops.

Exactly. I think it's very disappointing that Cheryl has acheived the most number ones; should be a better vocalist like Adele or Paloma Faith. The thing about Cheryl is that she gets lots of airplay and can rely on X Factor to promote it.

It's disappointing that someone who has contributed very little to pop culture should have the most number 1s. Her material is very forgettable and I can't for the life of me recall anything memorable performance wise from her. Quote:
It is a shame. But of course Paloma can actually sing, and her career is built on talent rather than being a judge on X Factor.

Isn't it a fact though that most albums are purchased by the over 35 age group and they're hardly the target audience for someone like Cheryl

Shame she's a total bitch in real life with the notion that she's better than normal non-famous people and that gives her the entitlement to treat them like s#!t

So she's only sold about 25k more than Nadine's flop album? Disappointing really, the album isn't that bad.

Her first sold 900,000 though, so at first she was a big seller

If she continues to release singles and they do well, and if she tours her albums I am sure her label will be happy. I doubt her albums are that expensive to make, they are most unknown producers with one or two demos recorded by some big names. |

I think her second actually managed over 500,000 copies in the end, and her third has over 100,000, but not much more.

I doubt her albums are that expensive to make, they are most unknown producers with one or two demos recorded by some big names. Albums are normally not cheap to make. Especially pop albums by artists like cheryl. The producers. The songwriters. Each day a recording studio is used. People who play instruments on the songs. The artists who feature on any of the songs. The photoshoots for the album. The money to promote the album. The money to distribute the album. I doubt they have made a profit from 40,000 copies made. The success of I Don't Care and Crazy stupid love would of more than likely covered the money spent on those songs alone. Not the album. |

Cheryl will probably be on a 360 deal though. If The Saturdays can stay signed on the same label as Cheryl with much lower single and especially album sales, I'm sure Cheryl will be fine.

If the third managed 60,000 and the fourth is only a few thousand copies before despite only being released a few weeks ago, surely that says more about the third than the fourth?
