I thought that the storyline was a step too far, (pardon the pun). Might have made a nice slow showdance though.

'Fraid for me the semi-final (or at least the dances of semi-final quality) only started when the rhumbas were out of the way.

Though my other half exclaiming "Now, that's how you clean a floor!" when Frankie and Kevin were doing that weird arse-dragging move, was a highlight of the show for me.

It was brilliant! I gave it a 9!

I thought it was different and charming, but like some other posters, I wouldn't have known what dance it was meant to be just from looking at it.
[Actually I was a bit relieved - I wasn't looking forward to watching Kevin trying to do sexy!]”

You would know what dance it was from the timing. The timing is the way you can tell a Waltz from a Foxtrot from a Cha Cha etc.
I did spot a few basic figures in there, 3 opening outs, a spiral, a few rumba walks. I'm, writing this without the benefit of having watched it back.I;d probably see some more watching again. I loved it. Too many expect/demand a sexy raunchy number, but I thought this worked so well with the music.

No, you would know from the timing Jennifer - me, I'd be clueless!
A waltz from a foxtrot I can manage, but the SalChaMba all look much the same to me - just a lot of waftin' abaht, as Len might say.
Until this weekend I thought I would recognise a rumba when I saw it, but not any longer...

I am not a fan of Frankie's or KFG's choreo
but
She danced and performed the routine very nicely and Bruno enjoyed the overall effect and concept so I don't see how his 10 was ridiculous.

Yes, I got that thank you. My point was the whole concept made for a bad Rumba before it even started, as her looking so stiff was never going to be in any way elegant or refined!

And four 10's for Flackers dance wasn't ridiculous at all.

I think I understand what you mean. As I know what the dance is just by the timing/rhythm even before being told what it is, its hard for me to see these things through those eyes that do not know. I have to say though, with most of the Foxtrots being out of hold for so long ( not Simons) even I cannot be sure whether the dance is Fox or AS. If they danced Fox in full hold, it would be readily recognisable.

She only got one three more points overall than Frankie, and was one placing higher.

Still it was clearly a crowd pleaser which is all that matters...Craig got the score right.”

I disagree with all of this, it's piffle. And it's presented in a lofty way that insinuates one knows what one is talking about, one does not.

Balance and reasonableness.
Agree.
