Check out Azucena https://twitter.com/azucenaladejal
got a small UK following, her last tweet saying how proud she is to be in the UK amazon Latin chart. Very humble and down to earth but most importantly has an amazing voice.

If you fancy something different for christmas

Latin music freak reporting for duty. Unfortunately I am not much use on a forum because often I have no idea who I am listening to. But if links are posted I will gratefully click.

Some great tunes there. Many jazz musicians followed Getz with Latin tunes.

I've Paul Desmond & Jim Hall's album "Bossa Antigua."

Won't say how many decades I've had it.

This isn't on it. But it's more Latin, by him, a favourite tune of mine.

His was a distinctive alto sound, you'd recognise it anywhere.

Digressing a bit, but I love this by him, one of his last performances before his death. He didn't look at all well, but his playing was faultless. Yes I know it wasn't Latin.

I'm pretty sure I've either seen the film or a documentary on the Bueno Vista Social Club on BBC TV.

Anyway, they're touring again this year.

Dizzy Gillespie, apparently playing latin jazz on the beach at Juan-les-Pins:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JlVvYX-2eU

In fact the gig took place inside the casino and the sea and crowd effects were somewhat amateurishly dubbed on afterwards, but it evokes the warm Mediterranean vibe very well. His version of Desafinado from the same album is even better but I can't find it on YouTube.
