Can a celeb/pro/judge/presenter/contestants(mum/nan/sister/dad) well whatever cry without being bashed as a sympathy seaking little ninny who needs to grow up and get a stiff upper lip?
I mean i watched Mark and Karen's Argentine Tango, Salsa and victory and she cried and was she vote seaking I don't think so, but when Karen Hauer cried last night she is all of the sudden a vote seaker. There are loads of other cases of people crying on the show

I will tell you now if I was on SCD i would be so in awe of everything i would have a tear in my eye all the time
Well thank god I am not a celeb then isn't it?

I have no problem with anyone crying, it's a normal human emotion. It is completely understandable for celebs and pro dancers who have been under a huge amount of stress and have been working their butts off to cry, it's a way the body releases tension.

Everyone was tense and emotional last night. As the pro ... perhaps Karen could have kept it together better but there was a lot riding on it .. so her emotion wasn't out of place and other pro's have done the same.

It's all part of Strictly, as is rolling out your granny and cute kids. It wouldn't be SCD without it

Wasn't it Natalie Gumede who didn't have any family? .. dead nans or otherwise ... appear in her VT's .. and people thought that was weird. You can't win really.

Do we remember the Olympics four grown men in a boat crying, Paul Gascogne?

The pros are highly competitive and passionate about their dances.

Only dancers and celebs that people like are allowed to cry - everyone else who does it is clearly attention seeking, faking and playing to the crowd for sympathy.

Are Karen & Mark sponsored by a Tear Stick company or perhaps they practise it during the week.

Kristina got a lot of abuse for crying last week as well which was unwarranted.

I say it's a pretty emotional competition and they should be allowed to cry if they feel like it.

I would gladly stamp on a few of their feet for Pixie if you want to find out.

Agreed...although that could be the producer's doing.

She did a lot of crying though. And made Artem dress in a onesie so not all bad!

Did her family hate her as much as the forum did? You can't win really.

If they cry they're faking it for sympathy.
If they're quiet they're arrogant.
If they are excited/exuberant they are cocky/attention seeking.
If they smile too much they are smug.
And god help them if they talk too much.......

Agree with every word of the above.

I don't agree. I am no Mark fan but when he was upset weeks ago, thinking he was going to be in the DO again, I felt sorry for him. Tears can sometimes be questionable but even the ones I'm not a fan of, are human and sometimes the pressure gets too much.

I think the post you were quoting was touch in cheek - basically certain people on here will bash someone who isn't their favourite for doing something but will conveniently ignore if someone they like does something similar or acts in a similar way.
And it's true on here - people will use any excuse to bash certain people.

I thought Karen was very genuine last night, she felt that she had let Mark down and that she had possibly ruined their chance at getting through to the final. In the heat of the moment she lost it, I think Len was very harsh on her, take into consideration the fact that she is probably completely knackered and stressed at having two dances to figure out this week and it's not surprising that she broke down. If that was fake then she is a very good actress!

Well crying didn't work for Karen, she ended up in the dance off.

Nothing manipulative about crying, it's more annoying than anything else.

Speaking as someone who cries so easily its embarrassing, I don't have a problem with the dancers and/or celebs crying male or female.

No they're not; they will be called " Fake "

Some people are so narrow minded. They cry for attention and sympathy and so they think everyone else does.
