Would it be better for Fleur if she didn't win?

We all know winners don't do the best. Look at Olly, 1D, Ella etc.

Would it be better for Fleur's career if she didn't win and not tied down to the Cowell contract?

If previous winners (Leona and possibly Alex excepted) are anything to go by I would say yes

Depends on what they do with her if she wins, Im expecting alot of collaberations with like usher (just wow) and other people, I think she could really kill it if she has the promotion if not then shes in trouble same for Ben, same for any winner but Simon has golddust with these two finalists so its anyones game - Simon would know how to marker Fleur more than ben though.

Leona and Little Mix were both very successful winners. And Alex was for a bit as well. I think either position will be good for her.

winning or not winning had absolutely nothing to do with post show success , it basically came down to what acts cowell is/was prepared to invest some money in , and that decision would be made long before the series finished

all this "better if they don't win" nonsense is just a deflection mechanism by fans of an act so they don't look silly by proclaiming their favourite as the best thing since sliced bread for 3 months

and before I get flamed by fleur fans that comment is aimed universally at fans of all the acts

I want her to win but I don't think it matters to her future IMO it may be better if she does not win.

Amen. The reason runner-ups do better post-show than the winners is because the winner is usually far less commercial. If the likes of Olly, One Direction, Ella Henderson and Tamera Foster (let's face it, she'll do better than Sam B) won X Factor, the "runner-ups do better than winners" statistic wouldn't exist.

It comes down to promotion, If sam hadnt got pregnant who knows she couldve had some good material, same as Leon etc etc.

If simon Loves fleur as he says he does, he obviously knows which direction to take her in and thinks shes a huge superstar in the making he will promote her and give her a decent album like he did with Alex, rest is down to Fleur and her fans, lots have changed and Itunes and downloads etc.

first time we have agreed for awhile

it all comes down to promotion and those decisions will not be made based on where an act comes in the voting , if syco thinks they can promote them they will

maybe if an act that cowell liked absolutely bombs in the first few weeks that might lose them a contract but as long as an act reaches the last few weeks and he thinks its worth the investment then that's all that matters

Its nice to be in agreement lol.

Yeah promotion is the tool, he will sign both acts and give them good material I personally feel he likes both and could make both big stars. Different markets.

^^This^^

Don't think it would've mattered if Fleur, in her case had won or come second - she'll still do well, either way. Probably better she's come 2nd though, if anything.

Indeed, look at Olly, 1D and Ella as being good examples, of not actually winning the thing
