I'm inclined to agree with Brendan - what do the sharp DS folk think?

Brendan should keep his nose out of matters that do not concern him.

I don't think there were any ulterior motives from Brendan there - nothing sinister anyway. Just probably realised that it may make Karen more emotional.

I think, contrary to what some people may want to believe, 'the Grimsby crew' are actually very popular amongst the other pros.

I missed that. Was Kevin angry? Did Brendan push him away horribly or to try and save him from making a twit of himself?

Yes, that is what I heard too and that is part of the confusion I think.

Brendan didn't do anything negative by moving Kevin but Claudia asked him to go to Karen. Mixed signals and maybe Brendan knowing better than Claudia at that point?

Kevin only came to comfort her when Claudia asked him to, though. But I don't think it was a big deal, at all.

If Kevin interuppted the interview, it would have all gone awry. He may well have just wanted to squeeze her arm, but Karen staying focussed on Claudia was the best way of regaining her composure

Brendan was being humorous. Claudia said "cuddle your fiance" so Kevin went towards Karen and Brendan went for Mark. They clashed on the way.

Brendan was trying to say Mark was his fiance.

A few people have tweeted him and he's said he was trying to get out of the way because there was a sofa right behind them

whatever it was Kevin seems to have a lot of respect for Brendan

Brendan's grown on me this series. I was always a bit meh about him before.

I came on ds to see what others thought about this incident, it stood out for me as odd and quite bouncer like.

I wondered if Brendan was trying to stage manage the situation and keep Kevin out the way because he is also a contestant and the interview for Mark and Karen should not become about Keven and Karen. Or if he knows Kevin so well he knew Kevin would also get emotional and the interview had to continue. Or he fancies the job as Brucey and is proving how in control he can be?

I think it is more likely to be this.
