I really don't like the fact that Len gets the deciding vote

I thought we were discussing if Len deserves the autocratic vote....not whether he made the right decision?

What outcomes?

How would it save the BBC a small fortune?

I think Len found tonight's decision very difficult indeed.

To be fair, even though I am not a fan of Len I don't think it makes any difference who has the deciding vote. The producers decide who will leave in a dance off and the judges do what they are told. Probably they need judges who are better actors as last week two of them were completely unbelievable!

And you have evidence to prove this?

I asked for proof, not more supposition and conspiracy theories.

Last week Pixie was worst in the D/O and she went, this week Jake was worse and he went. Seems fair to me and I have been rooting for Jake since week one, so I'm disappointed but nevertheless I agree with the decision.

And to put it to the public vote again if the judges vote 2 against 2 would be ridiculous. The easiest way round it would be to have a panel of 3 judges.

There might as well not be any other judges if Len is going to override everyone. Not arguing about who went but the unfairness of it.

For Len not to decide, all three of the other judges have to agree.

Remember that if the other 3 are in agreement, Len gets no vote at all.

Why on earth would they do that. It isn't exactly a model system on X Factor. "Oh, Dermot, it's so hard, I don't know what to do (even though I am paid zillions of pounds because I am supposed to know what I am doing), I am just so torn....let's take it to deadlock" (which happens every week regardless of the huge gulf between the contestants. At least on Strictly we have judges who can make a decision and Len is the most qualified of all of them to make it. Jake was the worst dancer last night and he was eliminated on merit (or lack thereof).

In which case, if the first two disagree then the last gets a casting vote...!

I hate conspiracy theories, hate them. But after tonight for the first time my first instinct was fix. Len hated Marks dance and yet he decides on balance to vote for him? I just don't buy it. Plus I've been suspicious all week about how often people have mentioned marks lack of dance experience...

What I don't like is these repeated attacks on the judges' integrity. I simply do not believe that they are told what to do by the producers. These accusations are made without foundation so far as I can see, and seem to be based on disappointment at the departure of a favourite. As for the public vote, how can it be fairer, when we can vote three times on line and as often as we care to pay for by phone? I have been disappointed at Len's decision sometimes myself, but I respect the fact that he is the judge, not me. So please, folks, give it a rest. Just because the judges don't always agree with us doesn't mean they are wrong, and questioning their integrity really is not worthy behaviour.

I have already suggested on another thread, make the judging panel an uneven number (3 or 5 judges) then there would be no need for a deciding vote ..... Simples!!

It isn't "simples" . Whoever votes last gets the casting vote if there is a deadlock.

If its 2 against 2 in the judges votes in the DO they could decide it by whoever tops the leaderboard over the 11 weeks combined .

Do you really need me to spell it out?

The judges supposedly get paid over £100,000 per series - so by having 3 judges instead of 4, they save £100k.

Many fans may also accept a 2/3 decision to vote off their favourite better than a 2/2 decision.
