James Arthur was my favourite male contestant but he's somewhat gobby and hardwork - I liked that he was a bad boy, I loved his material outside of XF, but hes kinda screwed himself over.

Out of interest did you find him physically attractive?

No, hes not my type but I like his tattoos - I do like his voice - genuinely, but TBH shoot me down for bringing race into it I much prefer mixed men - Black, Hispanic, Italian etc etc.

I never vote on looks - I vote for what im most likely to buy in the real world, I also vote for who I most identify with, and who's voice I like.

I'm not gonna shoot you down at all. You like whoever you like!

The only reason I mentioned it is it was suggested on a different post that Kerrianne didnt make it through to the live shows as she didn't conform enough to the popstar image. James was very 'street' but I wouldnt say he was a hunk like quarter-Italian Ben!

But James was a very different artist. He was a singer/songwriter and brought something very different to the show. He was probably the most relevant act the show has ever had in a lot of respects.

You've taken what I posted very literally but it's a sad but true fact that in general females in the pure pop side of the industry do get judged on image, whereas men and those in different genres don't get looked at in the same way.

Though look at how much even James was given a makeover and groomed compared to the scruffy bloke who strolled into his audition looking like he'd just got out of bed.

We're talking about Simon Cowell and his obsession with making a fast buck. Unless he can market you in the way he chooses, then you haven't got a prayer

Well you got me there Blondie. They did do their best to give him a makeover. As for what happenned to him I don't know whether he was the master of his own downfall or not - I read he squandered his success and was more concerned with partying than progressing but if that's true it's a real shame as he was very much a 'modern' artist and with songwriting credentials he could still have been selling records.

With whom ? DS ? Because according to the votes she needed major pimping & favoritism with a slice of cheating just to beat Lauren.

I think he blew his golden ticket and will live to regret it. The success of people like Sam Smith and John Newman show there is a market at present for good singer/songwriters with a retro edge and I think James could have fitted right in if only he could have kept his gob shut. His final downfall was his charming use of the term 'you f*cking queer' on Twitter which was the straw that broke Cowells back

Not shocked to see that Ben was running away with it from quite early on. Also not suprised to see how popular Paul was. It makes me sad to see how much he dropped off after Simon compared him to a fictional character that literally sucks the life out of people. Top 3, top 3, tope 3, top 5, then bottom. What he says holds weight with a lot of the voters, this proves it.

Uh-uh. According to some posters on here, the public has total power over everything - as if they somehow decide on song choice, VT, staging, choreography etc - rather than Cowell and his cronies.

Mormon Girl and co are in no way influenced by anything that is presented to them in that 3 minute package, over which the contestant has zero control. Apparently.

It's things like that happening that make me honestly happy the bottom 2 exists.

Its the public who vote so the public should have picked up the phone to vote for Paul.

Be gullible and keep thinking tactics have no influence in the way people vote...
