The sad part of it is Paul's sing off song blew any other performance away by any other act and by a long way

These stats make me sad for Lauren Paul and Andrea, they really got skrewed by producers

Anyone could've guessed that though. Everyone suspected it anyway.

Only The Young struggled A LOT more than I thought.

Fleur did pretty much what I expected. High/Middle in the beginning. Near the top towards the end. No actual lead.

Andrea not once, but twice, would have gone had a sing off gone to deadlock. Against Stevi and Lauren last week. THAT'S surprising.

Andrea and Lauren definitely had the biggest dip in popularity as the show progressed.

Stevie polling 3rd place in Week 4 (Halloween) when he was last to sing and there was only around 5 mins of opened phonelines from the moment he sang!

Surprised with Jay, expected him as the predictable % topper in the early weeks.”

Don't really know why it was a shock Fleur has had to fight her ass off as she was virtually unknown at the start of the lives so considering that I think she's actually done pretty well in the voting statistics.

Interesting that the weeks they left OTY till last to get through, they really were 3rd from bottom

I know I hope he gets a chance to be signed elsewhere and not tied into XF contract

They certainly made sure he wasn't going to win...on the other hand, the judges went against the public vote in the sing-off just twice, and both times were to save Andrea. Swings and roundabouts...

I knew these stats would annoy me

Lauren could have dueted with a star and performed in front of 10000 people

Ben won it fairly but Lauren had the opportunity to fight for 2nd

while I don't deny that manipulation goes on, Andrea's problem was peaking too early, most of the XFactor winners (such as Leona & Alexandra) sit mid-table for a few weeks, then have a big performance and go from strength to strength.

Andrea excelled at judges houses, wowed in Week1, but after weeks of Mariah/Whitney ballads done in the same style the audience got bored.

Does confirm some of the theories though and how damaging some of the treatment can be - i.e Andrea, Lauren and Paul all doing well until the producers threw them under the bus. Fleur not being that popular then suddenly she is after the pimping.

Anyone thinking that there is no manipulation after these stats then they need to open their eyes.”

Agree. Think Simon must have thought that putting Lauren out would have increased the Fleur vote.

I actually think Fleur did pretty well in the votes in hindsight, particular in the early weeks where she wasn't favoured all that much; in fact, she's a lot higher than I expected in weeks 1-3 (particularly 2, I remember being concerned that she'd be in the danger zone). Week 4 looks about right given that that's when the criticism over her vocals started. I was expecting higher for week 5 - definitely above Lauren and Stereo Kicks at least, and week 9 after all the hype, but I guess Ben was untouchable at that point.

The only huge surprises to me are Paul's popularity and OTY's lack-off - especially since they seemed to be as equally hyped as Fleur around here (if not more so, I know they topped the polls mid-series). Oh, and Lauren being above Andrea in the semis after two very questionable performances, but I guess she was on the rebound following a B2 appearance.

EDIT: Oh and Jay really wasn't all that popular either, his week 2 vote is a poor showing after the pimp slot and ridiculous overhype.

Interesting results. Despite all the hype, Fleur stood no chance at all in winning tonight. Ben ran away with it. And had been for the vast majority of the competition. Which shows you, never believe the hype from artists fanbases.

This just proves that my 3 favorites would have been contenders, but were all thrown under the bus.. Lauren should have been a finalist, but Simons tactics worked this series and pushed down Andrea, Lauren and Paul...Simon knew exactly what he was doing and what was going on and pushed out Andrea, Lauren and Paul... I'm so mad right now.......fuming...never had the manipulation been so blantant and it worked......

Where do you get that from these %s, Lauren probably had the most steady fan base of all, she never left the top 4 of the vote and never dipped lower than 10.4%.

Things must be tense between Cheryl and Simon after he fiddled her out of a place in the finals.

ITV to be applauded for once again releasing the % so quickly after the final. With The Voice you don't even get to find out which act came 2nd or 3rd.

Actually yes. Fleur had 24% and Ben had 36%. So he had 150% of the votes that she did.

Gutted for Paul. If he got even half of Fleurs favourtism he would of made the final I think, would of improved week on week. They well and truely screwed him over.

OTY were hiped on DS but they were actually terrible.I am not surprised at all.

Complete hatchet job on Paul, Andrea and Lauren. Lauren was completely robbed. Fleur didn't even top the vote with Uptown Funk. Lots of contrived hype for Fleur then!

Wow at Week 5!!! Paul and Jay both got 8.1%. It must have been extremely close.

The thing that pleases me with OTY is that the DS hype was important and could well have played a part in why they stayed for so long. Well done guys!!!

ONLY THE YOUNG!!!!

Topped iTunes so hardly contrived. Ben was unstoppable in the votes but that song was the biggest thing about this year's series.
