Someone explain week 5 to me. didnt that go to a deadlock between Paul and Jay?

Jay had more votes - just that they were so close the percentages worked out the same.

Would love to see the figures - if the 0.1 difference between Fleur and Lauren in Week 8 equalled 800 votes, Gawd alone knows what identical percentages in Week 5 equalled in terms of vote numbers. Must have been miniscule.

It does seem to prove that the judges only go to deadlock when the act they want to go actually polled the least votes. And what a comprehensive win for Ben!

So the weeks where Only the Young were last to be called, they were indeed the 3rd lowest

I only just noticed that! A disgrace Andrea should have gone that week whilst Stevi stayed! Grrr Deadlock is nothing but a joke.

So it wasn't a close vote like most were saying in the final

I wonder if Andrea dropped from the lead after Mel smugly bounced up and down proclaiming 'I've got the winner I've got the winner' - it sort of changed my views.

Shallow I know but I can't stand all that stuff and hands up - I always preferred Ben and Fleur.

I still can't believe that Stevie, the week he was eliminated, had more votes than Andrea
Both times Andrea was in the sing off, had it gone to deadlock, he'd have been eliminated. Shocking when you consider how well he did in the first three weeks.

But it does happen. Look at the voting for Eoghan Quigg and Chris Maloney and how they dominated the first few weeks only to slump when there were less acts against them

It just confirms how stitched up Paul A was in week 5.

He went from being top3 in the score board in the first 3 weeks, to being 5th in week four (after being called miserable on his VT) to being the last in week 5 (being called the dementor by Simon on live TV)

Simon wanted him gone (poor VT that week, death slot, terrible song choice) and he got what he wanted.

I truly believe that if was given a fair go he would have been in that final, potentially winning. He was never really given that opportunity to showcase his vocal to it's full capability but had he been, he'd have knocked all the others out the park.

Best of luck to Ben though. He was always my second favourite and I hope he does well.

Andrea didn't go

It actually hurts to see that he was top 3, top 3, top 3, top 5, then bottom after Simon had his way.

Well, if you look at the stats, he remained top for two weeks after that. He went down to second after they spray-painted him gold and made him sing disco from the nineties, which was the start of the hatchet job on him from TBTB. That was also the week Ben sang Highway to Hell, arguably his 'moment', so there's that too.

Shows Fleur started to rise up the voting when she started to get heavily pimped and Paul& Andrea dropped after Cowells attacks. Total manipulation, Cowell knew Fleur couldn't win but saw Paul & Andrea as a threat to his chosen one Ben.

Oh so now Ben is the chosen one?

I hope people do remember that, had they wanted they could have done what they did with Paul Akister and get Ben out of the way before he became a real threat to Fleur. Fleur was only favoured enough to get into the final. Annoying how a loud minority on this forum turned against her.
