They let the duff one win to bring out a cheap album. They let the marketable one come second. Of course they try and fool you die hards by making it seem like they were pimping the second place one to win so when they don't win it looks like a genuine upset.

I do think only the winner should be signed to Simons label as I thought that this was the whole point of the show but then again the winners are usually a bit meh so I don't mind.

Nah I was afraid of getting bombarded with the same boring response every other time in the past I hinted that maybe this show is purely fictional, if you get my drift. Those of us who say it is scripted, don't just mean what the judges say.

its a much better PR story for XFactor to have the Leona style storyline of 'receptionist auditions, wins the show, tops the charts worldwide'

Didn't watch actually. Was watching the Maze Runner from 8:20 until 22:20. Just noticed the winner of the xf on twitter while looking for the Sports Personality of the Year winner. Knew that fleur woman was the one you lot were all obsessed over.

Well, vote-rigging would be a criminal act, presumably. I don't see why they'd bother, when they can get much the same effect by leaving people to their own devices.
