I've seen more than enough of her own youtube stuff, Ive brought some of her songs on itunes and I like her voice in them.

It all comes down to taste I suppose. Singing will always be subjective. If you had to be a vocal acrobat then some of the superstars we have today would still be busking.

The same people probably don't like confident bubbly crazy males with banter either. Personally, I just didn't like Fleur's voice - simple as that.

I think she knew as soon as she had finished her winners song performance. It was in no way right for her and performed to the same level as Ben just before her and the audience reaction was a lot more muted. She has nothing to be ashamed of and made a very worthy runner up but I think she'd figured out she wouldn't be winning a good twenty minutes beforehand.

I agree. She turned to Ben immediately to congratulate him and clap. I do think, yes, she was slightly hyping up how happy she was but c'mon, you've gone through this process for six intense months and not won. You're human - you will be slightly disappointed inside and trying to hide it gracefully.

Oh 100% this - I commented at the time how lovely and gracious her reaction was. There's a lot of criticism of Fleur on here (perhaps some re her vocals are justified), but deeming her arrogant is just unfair given that she's shown nothing but humility the whole way through. In fact, the entire top 3 seemed like genuinely nice people, which is more than can be said for other finalists.

I just thought she looked nervous... as they both did

both of them are clearly going to get a deal, and we all know that winning the show, isn't the be all and end all to success afterwards anyway. The biggest pop successes haven't been the winners... jls, olly, & that bloody overhyped boyband!

She is a great performer, puts on a good show, has talent and whilst I don't, personally, think she has the most amazing voice ... that isn't necessarily the key to a successful artist anyway. It's style, song choice, image... having a niche I guess. I think she is very likeable and think she will do brilliantly

I like Ben's style more, indie rocky but was mostly wanting him to not win as I don't think syco knows what to do with that style....

She looked to me like she was having a ball throughout it, living her dream, what's arrogant about showing you're happy?!

Happy ? She had tears coming down her cheeks & she looked like she was about to murder Mel B when she said she sounded tired.

I did laugh when on the last show and everyone is supposed to be nice and polite that Mel B called Fleur 'tired'. Wasn't really called for, especially when Fleur had been 'at work' on Saturday night unlike Mel B.

She didnt, I think Fleur knew herself how tying it is to sing and dance, even more so in high heels!

She did sound tired, poor girl had the fan on her during the performance that drys out your vocals heavily and she probably was practicing all day.

what a shame ...

how is she going to cope doing 60-90 minute shows every night for weeks on end if that was too much for her ?

I think she looked confident and comfortable and absolutely delighted for Ben when the result was announced. If that was faked she has a fantastic future in acting as well as her inevitable music career.

I think our finalists were three genuine, nice people who supported each other and appreciated the support they had. It's not always like that so it was lovely to see.

I know right, what a lazy beast that Mel B is eh? Imagine having the gall to be hospitalised instead of working?

What a ridiculous comment to make.

Fleur was wonderful last night. But I can maybe understand why, on still riding the high from the week before where it was a genuine showstopper, Mel might think it tired. I do always feel a bit iffy about the judges making comments on a live final though, it takes the sheen of it a little.

I agree 3 of the nicest finalists we've had, each had there own personality strengths and weaknesses.

Pretty sure all 3 will go on to be a success

Ben in particular looked really nervous before the results and genuinely stunned afterwards - I don't think either had been told beforehand.
Fleur is reportedly getting a record deal with Syco anyway - which would explain why she didn't look too gutted - though I think she would have handled it well regardless.

Ben got the same comments, I suspected he wasn't going to win purely because the judges kept telling him that getting to the final was an achievement itself etc.

I thought it was weird that Fluer said she couldn't believe it when Ben won. That did make me wonder if she was so sure of herself winning to be so surprised. But other than that she seemed to take the news the way most runners up take it - gracefully.
