Paul followed by Andrea followed by, well, no-one really. The rest all had very casual relationships with pitch and if you can't get the most basic fundamental aspect of singing right then you're not a very good singer in my book, as agreeable as your natural tone might be.

Paul, then Lauren & miscellaneous other bootcampers

Andrea, Lauren, Paul. Not quite sure why they didn't allow Paul to get further, and surprised that they seemed to deliberately de-rail Lauren. In fact, I thought Lauren was the most marketable right from the start but they clearly wanted her out after about week 4.

Although, regarding Paul, If the radio was on in the background and the contestants were signing on it, I think I would only recognise Andrea's or Lauren's voice.

Former Champions League winning Liverpool manager, gave a massive press conference years ago in which he said "FACT" about 100 times. Seeing people declaring something to be FACT always reminds me of him.

This is exactly what I was thinking - he was wasted in that group and I don't understand why he didn't go through as a soloist ahead of Jake and Jack, who were both very limited. Presumably it was all related to looks as he didn't fit the look for the fit young male category. Which is a bit daft seeing as Jake was criticised for focusing on his looks rather than his music.

Also a mention for Kerrianne who was light years ahead of all of this year's girls. Not putting her through was a ridiculous decision from Cheryl or whoever pulls her strings. The girls' category looked so strong at the judges' houses stage.

I think this was a year with some very very weak singers, more so than in previous years. Jake, Jack, Jay, Steph and the dark girl in OTY in particular were very poor and inconsistent. Then you have your joke acts in Stevi and Blonde Electric and there's not a lot left.

No wonder people like Fleur. She might not be a powerhouse singer like Andrea but her performance more than made up for any slight vocal inadequacies. The majority were so weak I don't think I'd have put them through Boot Camp.

Paul and Andrea were in a different league. Ben given the right songs was good but Paul and Andrea proved they could sing anything and do a great job. Some of the contestants who made it as far as judges houses were also better singers than some who made it to the lives.

They kept giving the big diva ballads - a few up tempo could have made all the difference

Look how good he was with Ella in the duet ”

Yes I agree, hopefully James will be approached and be given a record deal as a solo artist.

What's the point of judges on X-Factor when the public decide. The winner was voted by the public for his looks not his voice. Total joke!
