Pretty interesting article? http://www.sotouk.com/2014/12/solve-...m-like-andrea/

What would you do if you were managing Andrea right now?

Thanks for that - interesting article.

Luckily, Simon has said in the press that he won't be signing Andrea, so at least we don't have to worry about that! Hopefully his image hasn't been damaged too much by all the snide comments on the show, together with all the 'boring' song choices - which, of course, were given to him by the X Factor - do people really believe that the contestants choose their own songs?

At the beginning of the process, Andrea said in interview that his favourite artists to sing were Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, so maybe he'll go in that direction. He has a nice grit to his voice that we didn't see as much of as I would have liked. He also said his favourite week on the show was big band week, so maybe he could be another Michael Buble? He could even do some classical/cross-over type stuff. He has a lot of options.

Like the article says, let's hope he gets signed by someone who is prepared to work with him and develop him. He is only 20, so there's plenty of time! Good luck to him

Agree about the grit and would also add soul which they didn't show us in the lives but we got to see pre lives with.

I think Andrea is better off as far away from Simon as possible, as he has made it clear that he has no respect for Andrea whatsoever.

He's mentioned in the press a few times that he wouldn't know what to do with him.

In another article, Simon also blamed Andrea for this year's drop in ratings!

Simon is a hypocrite and I'd go as far as to say it was very much the opposite, he used Andrea to grab viewers!

I think it's a combination of the show is dragged out, it's a singing competition with only a fraction of the show actually having singing in it and also in many peoples eyes it's manipulated and people have had enough of it.

Well his duet with Ella Henderson didn't suit him at all. Too fast and outside of his usual genre, clearly set up for a fall.

As for what to do with him, despite being a good singer I think he'll just pale back into obscurity. Good singers are 10 a penny and what would he sing? Nothing that isn't already done by Michael Buble, Alfie Boe, Il Divo etc...

2 hours each show IMO is just to much air time, they also may want to think about the duets - Weve had Xtina George Michael beyonce and Rhianna, and now were down to having acts like Ella, whilst amazing - only been in the business 5 minutes.

They need to shake up the show and it needs to be more dynamic oh yeah and get rid of Louis. Bring back Tulisa, and put more recent tunes in the song book.

agree with that last bit , he would be aiming for what is now a fairly niche market and going up against established artists who have far better voices than he does

don't necessarily agree about the duets

I do agree the guests this year were pretty underwhelming , still looking for a reason why exactly Ronnie wood was performing with 1D , I assumed it would turn into a stones medley or some sort of mashup

I was hoping Mick Jagger would appear and we'd get a vision of Harry Styles in about 50 years time.

I read somewhere that Andrea actually competed with two of the guys from Il Divo in the singing competition he was in as a teenager - and beat them He is still in touch with them I believe. Someone might have better info on that than me though. What a talented bunch of children they managed to find for that competition!

I personally liked his duet with Ella, but I guess it's all personal taste

Maybe Ronnie and Harry were going out on the pull later to find a mother and daughter. Think we can all guess who'd go for the mother and who'd go for the daughter

That could be said about every single upcoming artist in the world!
Also in my opinion his duet was the best of the night.
And there lies the problem, we don't all see it the same way.

Funnily enough, I've not liked Andrea at all but his duet with Ella was his best performance for me and I did say maybe they pitched him all wrong by going down the diva route

It was Il Volo (amazing singers) and 3 of them only they were single singers at the time. One of the 3 won the competition but it was for kids and not a competition as such because it wasn't so much the individual who was being voted but the song.
It was done that way because the producers felt it wouldn't be right having winners and losers at that age.

That is true but you have to have an 'edge' - something to really make you stand out from the crowd in a good way. His image is set in stone now as a chubby, camp, pug stroking, cake eating mammy's boy. I'm not saying that's fair, but that's what happened to him the second he sold his soul to Cowell. Public perception would be very hard to change.
