Andreas is way better off not on Simon's label anyway he's right he wouldn't know what to do with him he's only just have Andrea singing covers.
He could do well if he went down the Sam Smith route.

It was done that way because the producers felt it wouldn't be right having winners and losers at that age. ”

That's right - I remember now. Thanks dia6olo. They really are good aren't they - I am a classical music lover myself.

I think ironically Andrea might have a bit too much grit and rasp to his voice to be able to go down the same route as them - and also I think he genuinely prefers UK/USA type songs rather than Italian and soul/gospel rather than classical

Hopefully with the current acceptance of vocals over looks in music - Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Adele, Ella, etc., Andrea is hitting the market at the right time.

sam smith's "route" was writing his own material good enough to get him noticed , not going on x factor for 3 months

andrea basically can't go down the sam smith route unless he is also capable of writing award winning material for himself

He's only 20 though, people would be expecting him to grow up over the next few years. And people have short memories which are easily over-ridden with new marketing.

I wonder if Andrea would have been quite so keen to go on X Factor if he had realised the way that they treat contestants. In fact, I wonder if any of them would!

Il volo are incredible.
I agree about Andrea I personally don't see him having the voice to go down that route, I like his diva style and like to hear him belt the songs out.
He just needs material to allow him to express the soul and passion in his voice but not covers!

ACTUALLY I totally DISAGREE - Andrea and Ella's duet was by far the best out of the three. You really should get your ears checked out. Andrea has shown that he can sing up tempo. Mel should have given him up tempo songs from week 4 ffs she was told on several occasions that she needed to change her song choices for Andrea but she obviously didn't listen.

They need to shake up the show and it needs to be more dynamic oh yeah and get rid of Louis. Bring back Tulisa, and put more recent tunes in the song book.”

Bring back Tulisa????? She was a DISGRACE on Saturday. She was supposed to be Andrea's mentor because Mel wasn't there, and all she did was BIG UP Fleur, Andrea would have had more of a chance if Cheryl had mentored him on Saturday.

Agree but unfortunately we don't really know how much of a part Mel B really played if at all, he and her may have genuinely had very little say in what he actually got to sing.
He has shown in spinets that he was quite capable of pretty much singing anything they threw at him so one wonders why he wasn't allowed or didn't show more versatility.

Um, yeah I like Tulisa on the panel she is far better than Cheryl and Mel.

Andrea didnt stand a chance in the competition he was to damaged - Tulisa did big up Andrea, or were you not watching it properly.

It's interesting that, when Sam Smith, a credible artist, chose the song for Andrea, rather than the X Factor choosing it, went down incredibly well. Chandelier was one of Andrea's best performances imo and showcased what he could actually do with his voice in a more modern way, away from the ballads. I wonder if Sam Smith has time to mentor Andrea in between all his other engagements

Tulisa wasn't negative to Andrea, she said some nice things. But she didn't ask people to vote for him and she also said that Fleur was her favourite and that she wanted Fleur to win. It wasn't the support he would have got from Mel.

Has anybody noticed it went down hill for Andrea as soon as they dressed him up as a stupid gold devil?

I think it started with Simons negativity from week 2, I actually think simon started it in week one with his "you must be one of the red hot favourites" comment, he went on to bang his fists on the table grinning and smirking, I think he knew exactly what he was doing especially when you add Mel B's "you're the winner" "for sure" comment probably fed to her by the producers!

There is no doubting however the stupid gold devil outfit was a car crash!

Once they got his vote under control, they started dressing him normally again and he looked a lot better - no bow ties in the last couple of weeks (bar when he was in formal dress for Feeling Good), no Christmas jumpers, he just looked like a normal guy.

He's never going to be the world's best looking bloke, but if he was styled normally he wouldn't stand out either. Get rid of the deliberate distractions and you're just left with a nice guy with a great voice.

I bet the poor guy really regrets wearing that pugs jumper to the X Factor audition!

I wonder if there is any truth in the rumours that Bill Wyman was looking forward to meeting Only The Young?

Yeah......but thats you all over!!

Just reading the title thread. .is Andrea really a problem!???

To Simon Cowell maybe ....but he put paid to that by destroying Andreas moral almost completely. ...then on Saturday, had the bare faced check to go up to Andrea and started stroking his face, of all things. ..weird man..or rather muppet!!!

Andrea will be fine...once he breaks free from syco after the tour! !! I believe companies are now lining up for him, as soon as he was out...hence his constant smiling from Saturday!!

Some of them knew beforehand, but I don't think they realised how bad it would actually be.

Paul was aware and tried to stand up for himself, which is why they kept coming out with comments about him being difficult to work with.

OTY were also aware & had so many obstacles put in their that destroyed their performances that they agreed to tow the line just to save their post show credibility.

Stevie Ritchie & Chloe J knew but were willing gameplayers for Cowell.

Steph has tweeted several times about her treatment. She probably got sweet talked into doing the show thinking she would be treated favourably.

Lauren seemed to become more aware as the show went on and increasingly stressed out by it all until the semis.

Andrea probably realised when they painted him in gold and gave him horns.

If all these guys knew they must have discussed it between themselves at some point.

The problem is that without the fuel of Syco's publicity machine people will soon lose touch with what he's doing musically.

This happens year on year. Any contestant that refuses to bend to Cowell suddenly finds that none of the media are interested. Without the media interest he'll lose the interest of record labels.

If Cowell has really taken a disliking to him it'll be interesting to see how they portray him in the review shows.

It'll also be interesting to see how much more media attention Project Fleur receives compared to Andrea & Ben.
