Last night was pretty awful, I saw many fans of both Fleur and Ben be pretty cruel about the contestant they weren't supporting.

Ben got the most votes, and whether you like it or not he won and is guaranteed a record deal now. Fleur caused such a reaction the past few weeks and it seems clear that Simon loves her, so i'd be shocked to the core if he didn't sign her too. I don't understand why fans from both side can't just wish them both well?

TBF most of us did, but people still had to make endless threads about Fleur, so then it starts up again

I wish them both the best of luck, they are both going to be fine.

I agree OP. I liked them both and was just happy they were the final 2.

Both Ben and Fleur were gracious, dignified, classy and supportive throughout the final (and the series tbh) and maybe some of the fans need to take their lead

You are so right there. ~That is why i did'nt bother staying on here very long. So many people going completely over the top over what is just a singing competition. You would have thought it was the most important event in the world to some. Hopefully back to a bit of normality today.

I admit to posting in Ben's favour but even looking through my post history at last night, I think I used logic in my posts rather than taking any personal shots (Well I did at Simon Cowell, but hes the devil it just gives him more power)

It got quite vicious from some people. I was happy with the top two (Would have liked Paul to win going back in time a few months) but 2 deserving acts who appeal to their own type of audience

history tells you Ben will be screwed over good and proper im afraid.

i think people get very passionate about x factor, though any fan must know by now, winning is not the great thing the producers would have you believe.

They must see something in Ben to have wanted him to win

Im aware of this and I was championing Ben. I think this is the reason some people were saying Simon wanted Fleur to win because he probably sees her as someone he will put more effort into marketing compared to Ben...Which is a shame they should both be promoted.

Who really cares man. Just a forum with people talking rubbish, none of it matters.

The comments towards Lauren this season by her haters have been very disrespectful and lies. No personality, too arrogant and lacks any talent whatsoever are very harsh comments and simply not true.

Lauren had heaps of talent, it just wasn't pushed in the right way by Cheryl/Producers.

Lauren proved what she was good at in the early weeks then moving forward they kept trying to get her to dance and such which is just bizzare. StereoKicks didnt dance, neither did Ben, Andrea, Jay, Paul and so on.

Sure move around the stage but why force her into something that moves away from her strong points. Its like they were trying to make Cheryl 2.0

I 100% agree with you and tbh dancing is imo very little in what is needed to be successful. Yes an overall package is needed but singing is very much 75% of what you need

Who is looking forward to The Voice in a few weeks time? I much prefer it to XF as there is a greater diversity of act, and the calibre of the contests tends to be higher as well.

Exactly, if not more

I love The Voice...UK & US Versions . I hate the auditions where they laugh at people for being bad singers. Its obvious just nobody was prepared to give them the tough love of "Look, this isn't for you...find something else to do". Its wrong to give them that tough love on TV if they genuinely believe in themselves so that the entire viewing audience can laugh at them.

The producers weed them out in The Voice before the TV auditions. Everyone who does audition has a legit chance of making it through to the Battle Rounds. So many genres they cover, and they don't stick to the same songbook with the same songs year after year.

Bit gutted they think Rita Ora is somehow a suitable replacement for Kylie Minogue but im still looking forward to it.

And yet all three winners so far have been pretty weak acts.

not sure I can even remember who won last year without googling it and the only reason I remember the winner from the previous year was because of how hilarious her duet with the script was when she looked like a fan had been invited onto the stage to sing with them

To be fair she most likely wasn't aware of how she looked

There is still hope for this past years winner as it was Will.I.Am's first winner and at least Will.I.Am (And Ricky from the looks of it) seem interested in still helping some of their acts afterwards. Will's first win and Ricky only just had his 1st year.

No idea what his name was but he was a camp black guy.

At your description of the number 2 winners duet

The main problem that The Voice has is that whoever wins does not get the same type of promotion or backing that the winner from XF gets due to the fact that it is on thee BBC, which is a shame really.

Me, I won't be giving x factor any more of my viewing time.
I'm proud to say I was one of those who contributed to the x factor final having the lowest viewing figures in 10 years

Ben and Fleur 1st and 2nd - Scowell has all areas covered.

Derailed and eliminated:

Paul - so as not to hinder Ben.

Lola and Lauren - so as not to hinder Fleur

No, the main problem is that the 3 winners have all been awful and none of them will ever become stars even with millions thrown at them.

Acts get a platformm though and the public get some decent entertainment and normally great vocals.
