How can Cowell change the rules so his favourite wins

He cant unless he cheats with the vote counters. Thats the best bit of last night. Telling Simon Cowell to stuff it. Sad to see Fluers hopes dashed but thats the price to pay to see Simon Cowell humbled then so be it.

Yes crying shame for Simon - two acts in the top two - both of which will be signed by Syco regardless.

Good job for getting one in the eye for Simon

I think the final 2 should release the a winners single each and the one who charts higher gets the record deal. It might not make the best television but it puts the decision in the hands of people who would actually buy the music and not the horny housewives and grans.

The winners single should also be original.

There is one guaranteed winner every year and that's Simon.

He likes the winner - he promotes them, gets them good writers and producers to work with and ensures they get every bit of PR in his armour

He doesn't like the winner - they get a rush released covers album before being quietly dropped while he turns his attention to which ever runner up he thinks should have won and pimps them out instead

That's what Popstars: the Rivals did. Girls Aloud went to No1, One True Voice No2.

That would be quite fun actually - but i'm not sure it would make a difference. I think Ben would still have won. Lots of people would buy the winners' single but then may not buy another record by that person again - so it's not really a good indication of who would buy the music in the future.

Restrict the voting to social media platforms, I think people really underestimate the housewives vote on shows like this who prioritise safe and nice acts. They nearly singlehandedly won the show for Maloney a few years ago despite social media despising him.

At this point it's a worth try, the way it's going now we'll be getting dud winners until the show reaches its natural expiry date.

There's talks of him developing a music related format on FOX in the US because the X Factor brand is too tarnished. Hope he can transfer some of the ideas onto the show here.

We would have still gotten the same outcome, Ben was the clear favourite on Facebook and Twitter was more of a mixed bag but Ben still edged out

Where does all this housewives stuff come from? People of all ages vote, Ben and Fleur are very different, clearly most voters enjoy the more rock sound. Fleur is the better stage performer, but he had the stronger voice.

If it was down to 'housewives'Andrea would have won.

That post you replied to comes across as saying anyone over the age of 35 shouldn't vote, maybe a few men can as they understand music more?
Offensive post it was nonetheless.

Even saying 'Andrea' as the 'housewife' vote is offensive.

I'm over 40 as are many of my friends and many are also younger, married/single/divorced and their taste in music is very diverse within their own demographics..

Although I am no longer married, I would just like to add that my taste in music did not change the moment my honeymoon started.

Really? I would've said the desperate horny housewives would've gone for Ben - or like last year someone to mother in Nicholas and Jahmene

Why, are housewives banned from social media or is that you think that they are just too thick to work out how to use it 'roll eyes'

I'd get angry at the all the utter sexism and misogyny on here except it's countered by the wonderful irony that posters clearly think as X Factor viewers that they are somehow edgy and that an X Factor act like Fleur is icutting edge or shocking to some. The cringe value at least keeps me laughing.

He makes it so that he's the judge and jury and the rest of the judges and public have no voting rights. In other words no change there.

Did you not know Trevor that the minute all women hit their 40th birthday then they suddenly wake up one morning with the urge to start wearing twinsets and pearls and take up knitting whilst listening to Now Thats What I Call Bland

I must be lucky as I got 5 free votes each week and used them to vote for my favourites. Cowell didn't manage to disenfranchise me

Ah that explains it. It's probably related to the menstrual cycle or some such thing.

That's a bit cheeky.
Implying that horny housewives and grans have no taste.
