With News today that BT has now dropped buying into O2 M/phone company and now going for EE, are we going to see a big change in BT TV again ?

BT has are about to drop their older TV boxes to move over to youview boxes yet EE has just got into TV market with their own TV systems and broadband too from taking over Orange phone company ...

EE TV system/ box only gives extra players on top of freeview channels but does have app system like virgin has on Tivo boxes so is that why we have not had any more real TV channels added but for two sky sport channels ?

could the app's from buying EE be added to the player part of youview ?

Yes......
EE was T Mobile which took over Orange and T Mobile was One2One at the start of Mobile phones....

EE has the biggest 4G network and 33% of the UK market and it foot in the TV market with a box which links with freeview and gives apps on top.

This will mean that another UK telecom's will have package deals of TV , Broadband, Telephone and mobile phones ...

But will it give the public more choices and better prices ?

BT's entry into the mobile phone market via EE is tipped to raise competition; time will tell.
EE's TV service is financed and provided by Netgem so I doubt BT can just incorporate the best of EE TV into YouView but doubtless Tivo, Sky and YouView will all be working on similar projects to enhance their PVRs and if the EE service offers anything unique, it may not be so for long.

Remember that BT also owns Plusnet, and they have trialled their own branded YouView service, separate from the BT offering. So it doesn't necessarily follow that EE TV will be merged with BT TV

Far as I can tell EE TV doesn't have anything particularly unique. They've got a few different apps and on-demand services that would possibly play well on YouView but that's about it.

I can see BT merging EE TV into its own current television system and replacing EE customers set top boxes with the YouView one. Though don't forget TalkTalk are the other major shareholder in YV, so whether they'd have a say in things remains to be seen.

On the subject of PlusNet, what's the story with their TV plans? Their YV trials were ages ago, one has to assume they weren't that successful otherwise you'd think they'd have brought PN TV to market well before now.

Not strictly true...

EE is the result of a merger between Orange and T-Mobile, those companies have a 50% share each.

The service may not but the EE TV box makes my YouView box look and feel like a right pile of archaic horse shit.

Personally speaking I love my YouView box (I have the latest G4), it's nippy, easy to navigate and both terrestrial and IP channels are excellent quality.

Having lived in Ireland for a year, I keep abreast of television services over there still, and Eircom's fairly new TV service, which like YouView offers both FTA and more premium channels over fibre, and eVision uses the same kit as EE TV does.

It does look a decent box, I have to say. I can't see BT ever abandoning the YV platform for the EE/eVision platform though (can't remember what the maker of the box is, sorry!) given all the time and money they've invested in YV.

I was not talking about the quality of any broadcasts, just the box. The EE box interface is fresh, bright and fast, you go to anything internet related and they are there in a flash (even on my mums crap 10Mbit connection) and the EPG is excellent and loads in the blink of an eye.

Unfortunately I cant say any of these things about my (in all fairness old) Humax DTR-T1000 which in use is like wading through mud on national mud day, the slowest loading EPG on planet earth and an interface that looks like it was designed by a manic depressive.
