All of the above though not in that order are extremely poor this year!

This series?
Well, the bitching about 'undeserved scores' ,the character assassinations and so on,are up to the usual standards.

I have loved this series. It's the first series that, I have paid proper attention to.

I've really enjoyed it. I've never really been one for comparing one season to another season so I don't really get what joy people get out of doing it - things change, dancers move on, etc.

I've liked all the celebs, I've liked all the pros - sure there have been wtf moments and bizarre choices I'd like to not happen in future, but I've really enjoyed it.

The band have had an above average year I think. It's not their fault that nobody can seriously sing like Kate Bush.

The celeb list was ok once you saw them in the flesh. They weren't well known but there were some good looking guys and girls, some reasonable comedy celebs. It's the public's fault for getting rid of the more interesting ones first (long before Pixie).

I've loved the whole series.

Bruce used to make me cringe quite a bit, so his removal has been brilliant.

It is no secret that I would personally like dances to pay greater respect to the style being danced, which includes having appropriate music. I am also conscious that there do seem to have been more wardrobe malfunctions than usual so perhaps the costume standard has lowered ( or it maybe coincidence).

But overall I am a happy enough bunny.

I have to say that I've found some of the music terrible,l feel sorry for the pros trying to choreography to some of the song choices, surely there is more suitable music to be found for specific dances, when the music choice is wrong everything else looks wrong.

The only thing I would say has improved is the presenting, now that Bruce has gone (it could get even better next year if they replace Tess with Zoe).

I don't have a problem with any of the dancers. Even though the ones who have left were mostly better than what we have now I'm not sure Lilia, Flavia, Matt etc. would want to fit in with how the show is now.

As others have said, I miss seeing recognisable dances to appropriate music. Everything seems to merge into one these days and the show dances aren't as special because there are so many lifts and tricks in the other dances.

The costumes are noticeably cheaper than they used to be. The music choices are often horrible but I think the singers do a great job considering the range of music they have to sing and the lack of rehearsal time.

I don't think the choice of celebs was much worse than other years and I don't think it matters how famous someone is. It's just a shame that the celebs who tend to dance best and get far are the young popstar/reality TV types who have had most of their personality media trained out of them (BTW I am sure they are not like this in 'real life' but they don't say much of interest on TV). I miss the Julian Clary type contenstants.

On the whole I've enjoyed it. I've no problem with any of the celebrities - some I like more than others obviously but that's the same every year. In fact whilst there were few I really knew at the beginning I've been pleasantly surprised with most of them, far more than usual.
I think the specific dance rules should be enforced from the beginning - al least 50% of the dance should be recognisable (!), I like to see some innovation too but not so much you don't know what dance they're doing. I don't know who that has been down to this year - I suspect more production interference. That is something I've noticed more this year - the heavy hand of the production team and not for the better - imo.

I am loving it, and considering there is so much about it that you dislike I am surprised that you didn't give up watching weeks ago.

I've loved this series just as much as all the others. Nothing really to complain about other than I would like the pros to be able to choose their own music for their dances.

Apart from Pixie's premature exit, I've enjoyed it.

I think that perhaps you should find something else to watch.

SCD is its usual cheesy, charming self.
Yes, some of the celebs won't be known by all of us.
Yes, sometimes the music is strange.
Yes, the judges can be irritating
and yes, sometimes your favourite leaves early....

And really it is simply great fun.

Everyone knows we've had better dancers this year and seen some great dances. Anyone who thinks not is being extremely picky. Even the comedy turns were likeable and .. to me anyway .. didn't outstay their welcome. Not sure about the judges dancing on .. but sort of used to it now. The music choices have been questionable but .. on the whole .. the pro's have coped with it and given us some unusual and interesting dances. Costumes have been mostly good. I think it's one of the least boring series.
We also have an unpredictable final ... 'citing!

The band have been excellent.
Their professionalism puts the "front of house" people to shame.

Mostly .. they murdered a Queen song though! Was expecting dire things to happen to Wuthering Heights but no ... they coped marvellously.

I record it so only pick ones that I like to see then FF to the scores...I don't bother with the "jooges" inane comments....so in reality I probs only watch approx. 10 mins of it....then I look at the spoiler here to see who is eliminated.

It started off with a good selection of celebs to have a dance contest. Simon is an example of a celeb starting behind the top 3 girls, but becoming competitive with them by the finish. Thom, Jake and possibly Mark, maybe also could have reached a competitive level.
The judges started out well - giving constructive criticism.

Then the music and themes were not good, it became obvious that it was now not Strictly Come Dancing, but Vaguely Come Dancing, where subtitles would have helped let you know what the dance was supposed to be and the judges seemed happy with just about anything.

Very few training videos. Pros dancing with backing dancers while the celeb hangs around in the background or side-stage. We have lost some of the two-person team where the pro chooses the music and choreography and they feel they have reasonable control over what they produce. Now it seems the show is stage-managed too much.

We don't watch XFactor either so we always end up going for Movie On Demand instead (nice Sat treat beats going to cinema sometimes) if there is nothing else worth watching in any of the cable channels. Hence our bill can be astronomical!

*rolls eyes*

I've loved it as always. I think it could have done with an extra sports-person or two. I love how competitive they are and that they almost always have no stage/drama/presentation training. They are raw material apart from the muscle and stamina.

You may not have liked how they did it, but did they make mistakes or actually go wrong?
Doubt it.

So what you seem to be saying is that programmes you don't actually watch are well below standard. I feel the same way about Match of the Day and Top Gear.
