Where did you hear that from? I understood she turned down the opportunity to be a judge because she was too busy opening & then running her new dance studio.

Heck KH or the Hardymeister as I like to call her, is way more qualified to judge than Alesha ever was, and Arlene and Bruno and Craig come to that, what I meant was the celebs would not like her marking cos I think she would be tough, look at her analysis of Caroline on ITT las night.

Karen is not tough on the celebs at all, I feel she makes her comments in a nice friendly way, so as not to hurt their feelings, but gives them points to watch and work on. She is nowhere as critical or tough on them as she would be teaching a competitive couple.
I think its unlikely that she would want to be a judge on Strictly, they have quite possibly asked her before, over the years.

Karen is superb on ITT and for me would be a great head judge, I feel sometimes when Zoe asks her to comment on a particular judges score shes very diplomatic, on the panel herself I think she would give good constructive criticism when required, she has what it takes to be an excellent judge with good input.

I don't think the BBC make their decisions on what would irk DS the most wish they would, though

The thing is on ITT Karen has virtually the whole of the time alloted for judges comments in the main show for herself. The P-that-B seem to want a specific thing with the actual judging panel. Anyone being brought in would have to fit into that mould, not vice versa.

I agree, sack Darcey and Len and replace them with Ian and Karen!

But who's going to replace them from ITT?

I agree with this, she would probably end up having to bear very little resemblance to her "ITT self" as a judge.

It was on here at the time and she didn't deny it when she was asked on ITT. At the time she was the favourite to replace Alesha in the various threads dedicated to this topic. I don't think anyone involved in the (ballroom) dance world would turn down a £110k+ salary for 3 months work a year but you never know. Of course, just because it's talked about on DS and ITT doesn't make it true.

In fairness, if the producers implemented the changes suggested on DS then the show would be cancelled within a year.

I think Karen would be a good judge if Darcy were to leave. Although no doubt after a few episodes some of the "experts" on here would be suggesting she doesn't know anything about dancing.

I would like to see her take over Len's 'head judge' role, I think she'd be a breath of fresh air, as well as having the required knowledge. But, as the Beeb (and other channels) seem to have an unwritten rule about generally only allowing one female on any kind of panel at a time, I can't see it happening.

I agree. She is likeable with a great personality. I'd love to see her as a judge.

Never going to happen, she's not a patch on Darcy as a dancer, and she's really irritating.

In your opinion. I like Karen, she must be popular otherwise she would not be on the show year after year.

She championed Nicky Westlife ... so I haven't that much faith in her judgement.

I think she was very popular when she danced .. or up until Mark anyway. But has become increasingly less so. I voted for her and liked her but every year I like her less. I would much prefer Flavia .. far less OTT or Erin.

It's not just my opinion that Darcy is a better dancer, I doubt many would dispute that.
However it is my opinion she's irritating. Karen is only on ITT, I can't see her making the main show.

Flavia definitely, she's also a better dancer than Karen. Erin is a bit dull.

You need somebody fun - with a bit of humour. Iveta? Though otherwise, I vote for Camilla, and she's judging the tour so maybe it's a try-out. And when one of the boys leaves, then Anton - unless they replace Tess with him.

I doubt she would want to be on the main show, I suspect she would have been by now had she have been interested. She doesn't irritate me in the slightest.
As for comparing dancers, you can't really compare a ballerina to a Latin American dancer. They both excel in their own fields.

Well you can, and either way Karen was a bit lumpy and dumpy and had a strange woodeness about her which is odd in a Latin dancer. She was never very elegant dancer, and she was a bit OTT.

I would love to see Karen as a judge, she is so warm and friendly. Please replace Len too, save me having to fast-forward his comments!

I know she's not always well liked but she knows what she's talking about and I trust her judgement.
