No one cares.

Utility Warehouse is just some pyramid scheme that isn't worth discussing.

Who is their network operator?

I doubt UW has many customers anyway, so this wouldn't be anywhere near as significant as 3 doing it, for example

It's not 3.

4GB data limit is a savage cut in data for existing Utility Warehouse customers

It's EE. Not even Virgin gets unlimited data with EE so.. It was never going to last.

Virgin do. But on pay monthly, not on PAYG.

Unlimited ≠ 3.5GB

3.5GB of the unlimited data on maximum speed.

Therefore it is capped. At less than 90gb a month. Approx 85 of those Gb's at a ridiculously slow speed that doesn't allow streaming of even highly compressed HD or decent FaceTime quality etc.

Re the Virgin Mobile 3.5GB 'fair use' quasi-cap, doesn't stop though, so access to the web remains available, ditto for 'data light' applications (streaming audio would probably work ok too, no?).

More a soft cap. Tesco mobile PAYG had a had a hard cap of 250MB per day and you had to wait until midnight if you had used up your 250MB per dsy

With Virgin sim only/contract smartphone it depends on how you use the sim card really whether or not you notice any deterioration in performance after the first 3.5GB of use. It might be a struggle to listen to TuneIn beyond 3.5GB use without suffering from constant buffering.

How can you use 85GB for the month beyond the first 3.5GB on a virgin sim only 3G sim if it is ridiculously slow speed?

Approaching 3GB per day data use for possibly 12 to 16 hours per day use on a virgin 3G sim? Presuming you are only constantly streaming audio and video.
