Jake & Janette's Salsa

I'd say in terms of entertainment, Alison & Aljaz's Samba and American Smooth and Judy & Anton's Tango and Charleston

But technique included, it's a toss up between:

Frankie & Kevin's Tango
Jake & Janette's Salsa
Pixie & Trent's Samba

Odd that you've said that this year wasn't as good as three fairly nondescript series (well, at least in my opinion) yet it's been of a similar standard as three rather good ones. All subjective, of course.

Anyway, I've a handful - Pixie's Samba and Foxtrot, Jake's Salsa, Caroline's Charleston and Salsa, Mark's Jive and Sunetra's American Smooth (now, if she'd managed to dance like that for the rest of the series...)

Jake's Salsa is the single standout, memorable dance of the series. There have been other good ones, but his Salsa was unforgettable.

As far as a list of my top dances goes:
1. Simon & Kristina's Argentine Tango
2. Jake & Janette's Salsa
3. Caroline & Pasha's Charleston
4. Mark & Karen's Jive
5. Frankie & Kevin's Tango
6. Mark & Karen's Samba
7. Frankie & Kevin's Paso Doble
8. Simon & Kristina's Waltz
9. Jake & Janette's Charleston
10. Mark & Karen's Charleston

Thats a tough one but theres one that I keep going back to watch on youtube and thats Pixie & Trent's Samba so that is most definitely my favourite, the fact that Jake's samba scored higher is ridiculous.

The dance that is like indelible ink in my memory is Simon & Kristina's Argentine Tango - Simply Stunning. Other favourites for me are:

Simon's - Waltz, Quickstep (loved it loved it), Foxtrot was adorable
Caroline's - Charleston was super awesome
Frankie's - Argentine Tango
Mark's - The dance he did two week's ago where he was saved... that was delightful.

Jake's samba. Mainly because it made me laugh so much. I will compete with anyone on the floor where the samba is concerned but no matter how hard I try I cannot do what Jake did with his backside. If I could I'd never have to walk home again!

Any number of Pixies dances could qualify. That lass was a dance machine.

But if I have to pick one (this won't please the Argentine Tango experts and purists)........... I will say Frankie and Kevin's AT. I was left utterly awestruck.

There have been many great performances, but for me its Pixie & Trent's Paso Doble - I thought it was breathtaking and really deserved to score a 40!

Every series has at least one dance (or more if it's a good series and we are lucky enough) that stands out and will be remembered for a long time and this series is Jake's salsa whether the people here like it or not, whether it was technically perfect or not. I can't imagine the majority of people watching any of these dances in a few years time on YT (like some folk do from time to time - me, at least ) with the exception of very few of them.”

You've hit the nail on the proverbial. There have been lots of nice dances this series, quite a few of which I actually applauded, but only one that I am damned sure will be remembered in years to come. Jake's salsa was brilliant for a lot of reasons, even though it was not technically perfect. But it was a week 2 dance from somebody who was no more than competent in his first dance. It was danced with pizazz and aplomb and confidence and it blew me away. Phenomenal. I know it was a straight copy of Janette's audition piece for SYTYCD in the USA, but all the more credit goes to Jake for coping with such a demanding routine. Even if the judges give 4 10s to every dance in the final on Saturday, I don't think that salsa will be beaten for sheer impact.

I have loved many many dances this season so I'll narrow down a few and they came solely from Caroline and Pixie (the two best dancers imo)

Carolines Rumba, Charleston, Jive and AS
Pixies Paso, Samba and quickstep

What a brilliant season

No-one else has suggested my personal favourite so maybe I am the only one who loved it, but for me...

Frankie and Kevin's Blackpool quickstep to A Town Called Malice

....is my favourite dance.

I am usually biased towards quicksteps (and jives) as I am often blown away by the speed of these and in this one they absolutely flew across that dance floor. Len described it as Frankie's best dance and had a right go at Craig for awarding it a mere eight.

Another lighning quickstep was by Apollo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough in series four of DWTS; for speed and entertainment I felt Frankie and Kevin were almost rivalling that one.

I don't know why but it has just stuck with me, I absolutely loved it, don't care it wasn't technically that good

Jake's salsa and samba were tops. Thom's salsa was ace as it was the first time he relaxed and enjoyed himself. He put loads of personality into his Charlestown as well. Simon's AT was probably overall best for me, though. He took on the toughest challenge and mastered the dance.

Clearly not which is why the judges criticised it so much. Her samba was brilliant though and so much better than Jake's!
