What's everyone's problem with Overload Generation?

Overload Generation seem to be one of this year's most unpopular acts from this year's series. And they were slated to the high heavens in their one live show appearance.

I still don't understand what the fuss was about with them? To me, they were better than Stereo Kicks - better voices, better looking, more realistic as an act with post-show-success-potential.

And watching back their performance of I Kissed A Girl, their vocals sounded just fine to me. The judges absolutely laid into them saying they were out of tune, had no stage presence etc but to me, they seemed to do a pretty good job? Whereas Stereo Kicks had about two good singers, looked weird and couldn't perform properly seeing as there was too many of them.

Can someone enlighten me on what OG actually did wrong?

Who?

Ever since that little tool was all like 'We wanna fight for our chair' I thought just go home son, and get that application for McDonalds filled out.

I barely remember them, what did they sing in the first show?

I don't really remember them, and I'm not too fussed dredging up their old performances to watch so can't really comment on their talent.

I think what rubbed a few people the wrong way, was the demand to sing again at bootcamp between them and the two girl groups. The whole thing just felt so forced and eyeroll-worthy.

For me they were trying too hard to be One Direction. You could easily spot which one was trying to be Zayn and which was trying to be Harry. We already have 1D we don't need another poorer version. Had they come in with their own look/style I'd have probably liked them more.

terrible band name.

They didn't make much of an impression on me, apart from thinking they looked like a Wand Erection tribute band. I think they were set up to be the bad guys in the groups as from what I do remember, they were definitely better than the over-hyped and under-performing Stereo Kicks.

Concept were better than StereoKicks or Overload Generation

The fact Overload got through as a wildcard when they were not even at Judges Houses is ridicilous. Their original song at their arena auditions was meh at best.

The 3 groups Louis should have chosen for the live shows were Only The Young, Concept & The New Girlband

Then whoever as wildcard

A lot of it comes from they were bought back to the lives when they didn't even make judges houses!

The fact that they literally each based themselves on a member of One Direction sums up how awful they are.

Especially that smug blonde one. So glad we only had to endure them for one week.

Are you their manager Blair who keeps dragging down Stereo Kicks on Twitter ?

For me, it was the exact same thing that bugs me about the likes of Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber - their fans.

The young girls crying their eyes out when the judges didn't put them through at the 6 chair challenge. The booing and hysterics just looked ridiculous and it put me off them so fast. The fact that this boyband had only performed 1 song made it far more silly.

They were a monster that needed to be squashed quick.

100% agree and I can't begin to understand why they didn't make the lives

Is this the same Blair who auditioned for XF at least twice as lead singer of a band, dated Jodie Marsh and then joined East 17 for their failed comeback?

I don't think there was a fuss.

Haven't seen them mentioned on here since they went out

Yeah, there;s currently 2 topics naming them on or near the front page. I'm pretty sure that never happened at all throughout the series, when they were actually semi-relevant.

Have to echo everyone else in saying was there really a problem?
They were pretty much forgotten as soon as they were gone.

I only made the topic cos I've seen them consistently placed at the bottom of 'rate this year's finalists' charts and stuff, below the likes of Stevi and Blonde Electra who were talentless and seemed like dreadful human beings.
