Knowing this it will be interesting to see what the final product is, if it's a cheese fest, full of covers or if he doesn't have writings credits we'll know for sure he was strong armed by Syco!

The first album is normally rushed out pretty quick, so will be intersting to see what it is like.

I don't know how much Simon actually does like Ben. It's clear that Fleur was the preferred option for all involved but Ben was a credible and acceptable second. I think they'll go down the Matt Cardle route - an album full of acoustic guitary dirge that is self written and then bin him off when it inevitably flops.

If I were them I would have him working with classic rockstars - get some of Metallica, ACDC, Led Zeplin etc. on, get Brian May on production (if he even does that) and make a complete balls out, nostalgic, cheesy 70s rock album but with original songs. I think it would be massive!

He never said he wanted to write for Matt Cardle either. And I doubt Matt Cardle particularly wanted a Barlow reject for his lead single. But that's what happened, nonetheless.

I'm sure he'll get new material, but it won't be a self-penned album anymore than JA's album was self-penned, or Ella's. There'll be a ton of writers involved.

No it's not. It normally takes a year for the album to be released, unless Simon has no faith e.g. Sam Bailey. Positive that it's going to be an original album though.

Is this a wind up? Someone wins a karaoke contest and people talk of him getting together with legendary rockstars to produce an album, yeah right. Reality will be a mothers day cheesy pop cover album as a thank you to all the bored frustrated middle aged housewives that voted for him.

Simon won't repeat the "mistake" he made of giving Leon nearly a year to record a full new album with original material only to see it flop.

Unless other labels get involved, Ben may be heading for a rush released covers album with a handful of original songs.

Leona and Alexandra had by far the most expensive debut albums, but they were given American record deals and heavily invested in by top executives in the US, so the investment paid off for them.

They need to get him in a band with his brother and a couple of good session musicians for the tour and use the tour to showcase a decent single (whoever it's written by) and then worry about putting together an album afterwards.

I don't think what Ben wants is anything more than every winner wanted. He'll get what he's given though in reality.

The single is rushed out quick, but certainly not the album. Was is Archer or Cardell who was shouting that the runners up got their albums out before them?

I will never understand why Cowell does this, by the time the winner brings an album out, the momentum is long gone, there is usually some other bright young thing on the scene by then.

Fleur was his golden child, he will concentrate on her, she is his cash cow, he isn't interested in a bloke who can only sing one style of song, he's a nice enough bloke, but he will be unheard of within a year, same old, same old.

Simon cowell does not care really, ever one complains but as your comment shows, nobody really cares who wins the show and most people can't even remember their name..he must be laughing to himself.

Hey I never said it was likely, I said that's what I would do. The likelihood is that he will be given an album full of pseudo-rock ballads like "Iris" and "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" that will limp in at #1 in March, never to be heard of again. It would be a shame, the potential is there but they won't make the effort.
