You're Fired struggling for guests?
According to TV listings Katherine Ryan is on tonight for a third time. For the final it's Romesh and Dale Murray again. The final used to attract big names like Jonathan Ross and the only people who appeared more than once were Nick and Karren.
I've said it before but You're Fired is in need of an overhaul. |

Oh God, yes. This series of You're Fired! has been awful. Last week I didn't have time to watch it - this has happened before and I catch up on iPlayer during the week, but I haven't got around to watching it yet, and perhaps I never will. I've found it dull. Back in the first series (which accompanied Series 2 of the main programme, as Series 1 didn't have a You're Fired! programme) they analysed the candidates' skills each week, and how they react to one another in a serious context. They regularly had appearances from a business psychologist to discuss things. Since then, the programme has gone more down the comedy route - which I actually don't mind if it's working like that, but this series hasn't been very funny. A lot of the time, I just think 'What was the point of that?' Some of the skits (like Joe Lycett's music video) just seemed to fill time. It doesn't appear to have very much to it at all. And as the original poster said, they seem to be struggling for panelists.
I'd like it to have a big overhaul next year. Get someone new to replace Dara because he is getting very boring, cover serious business or comedy or a bit of both but make it bloody interesting, because this year has just been unmemorable. Don't get me wrong, I haven't hated it, but I have thought it was considerably worse than previous series, and this is the first time since I started watching The Apprentice regularly that I have missed an episode of You're Fired! and not been especially motivated to catch up. |

I thought that having to have three fired candidates in one show would be too rushed but strangely enough I felt it was rather flat.
You're Fired nowadays is filled mainly by Dara's mates from Mock the Week. They usually add nothing to the programme. Same faces turned up on the Bake Off Extra Slice too. Fed up of seeing Katherine Ryan particularly, who is a panel show regular. |
