The Paso, kevin? Is that Defying Gravity?

It looked decent, impressive even, in week 5 or whatever. But as Ian Waite pointed out tonight on ITT, kevin and frankie's paso will have to improve a hell of a lot. Otherwise they will find themselves 1-0 down early on, with the certainty that the now-obligatory donny 10's will go to caroline and simon's MUCH MORE RECENT choices.
I can think of at least 4 dances that have been better for cliftonbridge.......the most obvious of all the tango (the green mean machine routine). Is the problem that... wardrobe have run out of green paint??

Judges choice might be the tango.

I saw Defying gravity on an early list for them, then it changed, I guess it's judges choice or make up is just far too much to do. With up to three dances.

If she did the Tango in the green paint, how could it be taken off properly for her to do the other dances in the time allowed ? And doing it without the green paint would spoil the effect. As for the Paso - the song helped so much - who doesn't enjoy hearing it. What Frankie has to do this time is to straighten her legs more, and keep her feet together doing the synchronised jump with Kevin. Before her feet were apart and it looked awful. I really like this dance though, and all the flouncing and attitude in her face.

Agreed - I think her feet and legs have improved in recent weeks - I hope she makes second half to do it

When Chelsee and Pasha did the Shrek jive in the final, Pasha just had a hint of green and ears

Shouldn't the judges choice be a dance that they saw early in the competition and think will be much improved in the final. i.e. the pasadoble and not the tango?

Mark's certainly sounds as if it's one where the judges think he can improve - he didn't sound too happy at what they've been given (I expect it's Quickstep).

I doubt we're going to see Frankie's Tango again, they don't really have any justification for it being the judges' choice as there wouldn't be an awful lot to improve on. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be Waltz or Foxtrot.

I'm also not surprised at them picking the Paso - when asked what their favourite dance was last week they said they were stuck between Tango, Foxtrot and Paso, and given she's doing a ballroom showdance and may well have a ballroom judges' choice, it's not bad thing that she's potentially doing the one Latin she was particularly good at!

Kevin doing Paso in the final 2 years running is a bit unimaginative though, and I don't really like watching him dance it!

Well Paso is Frankie and Kevin's choice but the Tango was fairly early on and can be improved upon but I think the judges might pick something else. Possibly something latin.

It scored 37 - not too much room for improvement there!

I think Kevin may have made a pretty smart decision picking the paso. If the judges know they're doing a Latin for their own choice, they'll be less likely to stick them with a Latin they don't want for the judges' pick.

Better to do the paso and get a nice, safe ballroom for their first dance than choose the tango, possibly have its effect muted due to toned down costume and make up and then also get stung with a cha cha or salsa for the judges' choice.

ETA - I see that Mystical makes similar points above. That'll teach me to read the thread properly .
