robotic was the word he used about Kate., Crying dealt with the issue for Bianca.

It was a bit of a character assassination, insinuating Bianca had built up a mask to hide character flaws. She also said Bianca lacked a personality. Bianca took it personally because it was personal. She probably wasn't expecting to have to deal with that, hence why she got upset.

What if a candidate asked Sugar, Claude etc who the real person behind their mask was? Bloody impertinent I thought.

I think it's unfair to say that her crying was basically enough to send her through. By all accounts she has the best business plan and a potentially hugely successful one. And actually, crying probably didn't do her any favours to be honest but I understand why she did, the woman basically insinuated that she had no personality and was using a mask to hide herself away which I thought was quite OTT considering the woman *forgotten her name sorry* doesn't know Bianca very well so isn't really in a position to make remarks such as those.

I agree. It was quite a vicious personal attack. Her interview with the female interviewer should been based on her business plan solely.

The narrator said the female one was their to judge the person themselves. I do agree she went a bit extreme

I think the interviewer was well within her rights to ask a question like that.so far Bianca has not really shown anything of her personality. it was a readily used interview technique as a bit of a character test. she was simply looking for a response from Bianca imo. surprised when she cried thereafter, but she seemed to recover well

The person is important too.

It was a bit of a low blow, but fascinating.

Bianca only had to have some outside interests, do ballroom dancing, be a fan of something, love reading crime novels, be keen on baking or something.

But she had nothing to say.

It's standard in interviews too. It's always something put on cvs after all.

It was irrelevant.

Bianca shouldn't have to justify her personality, she seems like a nice person and that's all that matters. It's no one's business if she either chooses to be private, or if she can't help but be private. It's not compulsory to wear your heart on your sleeve or be eccentric just to prove you're unique.

I thought it was very unprofessional of the woman. .

The lady was probably just being nosey. I love Mark but I hope Bianca wins. Funny I was saying it vice versa 2 mins ago.

'gullible' and 'unprofessional' eh?

The interviewers role was to judge character, personality and make sure it was suitable for the role of sharing a business with LS. It was suprising to see her crumble with the question "tell me a bit about yourself" a real basic interview question that she should have been prepared for.

I think she was so in the zone of her business and the competition so far that it caught her offguard and she didnt deal with it too well.

That said she clearly has a very strong business plan and that's what got her tthrough to the final.and could lead her to win the competition.

I think they were hoping she'd admit to being a Klingon with that massive bonce of hers.

It's a big assumption that she hadn't mentioned her outside interests on her CV. Bianca does not strike me as someone who would not have covered these aspects; she's familiar with the content of CVs, and is paid well to help others to prepare theirs. I think Bianca was upset because she felt that the interviewer was questioning her integrity. I hope that Bianca wins.

I'm glad she cried actually.

It softened her - in my eyes anyway.

She has been very guarded all through the process and she's been tough to 'get to know'

I hope that what she takes away from that experience is that she doesn't have to be all uber buttoned-down all of the time.

Relaxing slightly doesn't mean that all of her sense of professionalism goes out the window.

Bianca struggled with the question "tell me a bit about yourself" a very common interview question. It was her inability to answer this that lead to the assumption the interveiwer made.

I've actually always thought Bianca has had personality. She does have a certain wit about her, remember her 'wise man' monologue re James? She's also made a couple of other cutting but funny remarks.

The interviewer made it clear that she didn't want Bianca to repeat what was on her CV - we have not knowledge of what she had included but it could have been pretty comprehensive. In the absence of seeing the CVs of all candidates, I do not know if the interviewer's question was fair or necessary. I bow to your superior knowledge as I'm not sure what assumption the interviewer made.

Of course, she will win now.

Turning on the 'water-works' seems to work everytime

Bully-boy Mark, saying "i wouldn't want to be in your shoes"

That's done it

If that is how she reacts to a bit of critique like this, I can't imagine she will last long in business.

I thought the question was absolutely the right thing to say. It is known by many organisations including education & business, to choose people at interview who have a wider range of interests than just the one they may be being interviewed about. Hope that makes sense?

It was good to see the real Bianca & it made me like her. It wasn't about her crying, it was just nice to know she is not as robotic as she wishes to make out. Best of luck to her!

Just a couple of things to address
1. I personally don't see any difference in the characters and approaches that both Roisin and Bianca have. They both seem logical, intelligent, professional and seemed to deal with the petty squables going on around them pretty well (and also dealing with James). I found Bianca funny at times and up until this episode I would never have thought she was hiding something or didn't have a personality so I'm still baffled as to why that became central to her interview process (I've got a couple of theories but not enough time to delve into that)

2. I don't think it was Claudine who broke her but mainly the way Mark said to her "And are you?" after she'd just told them about the suggestion of her hiding something. Having spent a number of weeks with these people maybe she expected them to say "that's not true", "you seem like you've been yourself throughout" etc. Mark asking that question pretty much confirmed that they have doubts about her character. I think he was gameplaying as well when he asked that because he could tell she was rattled
