It's a line of attack that has been used many time in the Interviews before. She should have prepared for it. Bianca came across as under-prepared and inexperienced.

Seemed like crocodile tears to me...she was playing the game. The first interviewer said that she was making a mistake by starting with both products straight away. She then went into the next interview and said that she was going to start with one product and not two. The next interviewer said she was robotic. So at the next interview she cries abit, to prove she isnt robotic.

Sorry I may be wrong, but I dont buy the tears. She is clever and sneaky enough to fake cry.

That interviewer was a right cow. I didn't think Bianca was robotic; just a measured and professional person. She doesn't come across as unfriendly. Some people prefer to keep their personal life separate from business.

Compare this to her treatment of Mark where she just went gooey. No probing question for him.

She told (I think) Mark afterwards that she was being herself. This suggests it never occurred to her that people might wonder whether she wasn't what she seemed or that she wasn't as honest as she looked.

I think the interviewer blindsided her so much that she was still rattled when she entered the interview with Ricky. She probably thought she came across sincere and honest, and felt hurt that there was a possibility she didn't do well in that respect. Bearing in mind she specialises in personal branding.

Either way, I loved that part as I found it interesting. I also think Bianca will utilise that experience by relaxing her wall of professionalism a little. The interviewer may have done her a favour in that respect.

I don't know about "line of attack" - it's a standard-issue interview question, and is usually a "lowball" one, intended to put candidates at their ease by (theoretically) allowing them to relax and take some time talking about something they know all about, i.e. themselves... I just think that TA is such a heightened (and artificial) experience, that Bianca was 100% in "professional" mode, and when the question came up, at that moment her brain had nowhere to go, and she had what I think was a very genuine emotional response accordingly...

I hope she wins, Mark's just too much straight out of a cookie-cutter to me, just throw a rock in central London and you'll hit two people just like him...

Tell me something about yourself..... I'm 25 and went to such and such school. Goodness me, it sounds like she was applying for a paper round job. You'd think at this level candidates would have a few interesting snippets about themselves that make them stand out. Just shows Bianca is a robot.

Could not agree more. I personally think crying like that anyway, should count against you. You are supposed to be professional business people. I don't buy into that 'oh it's because they care so passionately about it all'. Absolute none sense Borg the great tennis player was called the ice man because he did not show emotion on the court. He cared so much that sometimes he could not eat or even talk to his wife afterwards due to being so upset with some of his matches.

t she didnt say tell me about yourself , she said tell me something about yourself that no one else knows . all the stuff I know about myself but no one else does Is my private business and not for public consumption certainly not on a tv programme .Not everyone feels the need to share their personal journeys ( vomit) with the world

Strangely no one has started a thread on why Roisin started to cry when she was describing how passionate she was about her food

Roisin did not get through though. Bianca did. Also she did not seem to be crying to stop the interrogation its tracks. It very much looked like that was the case with Bianca. Could be wrong though.

I dont think she was faking it , I think the previous interview was playing on her mind and it totally blindsided her.It would have done me too as i said theres a big difference between tell me about yourself and Tell me something about yourself that no one else knows

I couldn't disagree more.

She coaches others for interviews so would know that crying during an interview is not a positive thing to do at all.

I think she was mortified to have broken down like that and discover that she was more vulnerable than she realised.

Fair point
Could just say 'I'm sorry that's personal. This is a business interview' Easy sitting in your armchair I know.

They both seem logical, intelligent, professional and seemed to deal with the petty squables going on around them pretty well (and also dealing with James). I found Bianca funny at times and up until this episode I would never have thought she was hiding something or didn't have a personality so I'm still baffled as to why that became central to her interview process (I've got a couple of theories but not enough time to delve into that)

2. I don't think it was Claudine who broke her but mainly the way Mark said to her "And are you?" after she'd just told them about the suggestion of her hiding something. Having spent a number of weeks with these people maybe she expected them to say "that's not true", "you seem like you've been yourself throughout" etc. Mark asking that question pretty much confirmed that they have doubts about her character. I think he was gameplaying as well when he asked that because he could tell she was rattled”

Wot she said ^^^

I wish mark had blubbed to Claudine. She'd have had him nestled in her bosum before he could even blink.

But then you're not playing along with the interviewer and basically telling them you are unprofessional. It was a silly question that had no bearing on her ability as a businesswoman.

Fair point.
However I do remember in a past series interview I think it was Steven, who was very good at impersonating a pterodactyl . The interviewer asked him to do it and he obliged. The interviewer afterwards gave him a sever reprimand for not showing judgement. He said you should have said this is a business interview I would rather just talk about my business credentials.

Sometimes interviewers do that as a test of your assertiveness. As I previously stated its a lot easier sitting in your armchair.

Too right. Who did that overmade up bag think she was? If a complete stranger said to me they thought I was hiding behind a mask at an interiew I would be upset too.

I don't like interviewers probing into my personal life either, I normally have something to tell them like a hobby, but I thought that was the end of it, but Claudine went to say, that Bianca had no personality and that she has a mask on, obviously when a person goes for an interview we are business like and professional, you don't expect someone to call you up on that fact and insult you and say you know what I think you have no personality, which I don't think is even correct because going by the tasks particularly the one in the kitchen last time we see her open up at the tea place and again in the actual kitchen with Daniel they were getting along tasting everything and having fun, how can you say she doesn't have no personality after that, she just wanted to insult her for being professional and not being playful like Solomon was for example.
