Leaving on a jet plane.

I love this song. It reminds me of the Velvet Underground a bit. I know that's a weird connection but I can hear it a bit, especially at the start.

I recently got this album. The opening track is a corker.

Always thought I hated country music until i heard,

George Jones - He stopped loving her today
The perfect country song, lyrics about heartbreak, slide guitars and that amazing voice of the possum.

Also love the bitterness of,
Murder on music row by Alan Jackson & George Strait.

My mum was very into country music, I tended to ignore it.

But after she died I found Patsy Cline amazing, some of the early stuff is very rock a billy or even blues.

Now most people just think Crazy or Sweet Dreams.

I have always liked the harmony of M/F duets.
Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris - Hickory Wind is a classic.
So is Neil Youngs Four Strong Winds with vocals by Nicolette Larson.

For country stories of people's lives listen to Johnny Cash:
Give my love to Rose
Let it Roll

and have a box of tissues handy!
