When the interviewer asked Roisin, does she have any experience running a business, Roisin said no, but she undersold herself I felt she could have used the skills she has learnt, pitching, branding, creativity there when she pm'd the recipe for the puddings, and answered them that yes I have not made the Konjac product and sold it but here look at my experience in the house I'm passionate about this recipe business and if I've managed to pitch puddings that Tesco, Waitrose have on their shelves already and they bought it from me and my team once again I will go see the same people and pitch my konjac recipe foods. Its wrong to just say you have never run a business and know nothing about the chilled foods and supermarkets buying from suppliers because there she was a supplier for cheesecakes.

I did think it would be the girls Bianca and Roisin to make the final, I did think Roisin would win but because she didn't adjust her plan in the interviews (Bianca dropped Shapewear and kept the tights first and later introduce more), maybe if Roisin did that she could have said yes, now on hindsight I will adjust the figures and only work with 250,000 pounds for the first year, ask for the Business Plan back and adjust the numbers, she's a chartered accountant, work the figures now and resubmit them to Lord Alan Sugar, I understand from here that in the past at interviews the BP has failed and with minor tweaks the candidate has gone through, so Roisin should not have stuck to the original plan and gone smaller, to match the investment of 250,000 pounds.

If I look at Mark, I don't understand where he will spend 250,000 pounds because he just needs a phone and a pc and his up and running surely with his smart talk and selling ability, as long as his brain is fully functioning he can feature SME's further up the search engine, unless I have not grasped his business plan.

I was truly shocked at how little product research she'd done, given how level headed she's been up to now. Yes unfortunately the knowledge about Konjac has got out now and recipes are available, I was just wondering based on what she said on the You're Fired show, "I've progressed it along" about the product that Nah producer of the chilled recipe of Konjac if Roisin is on board with that, has she really missed the boat completely has someone beaten her to it or its her?

About the "Teapot cheesecakes" what do you mean is it not real that Tesco bought 20,000 and Waitrose bought 5,500 of the product?

Roisin appeared to be living in some sort of "dream world", and demonstrated her total lack of real business sense in this task. Her figures were everywhere, she hadn't done any market research, but worse she claimed she had. And the worst mistake she had not identified the market correctly, if she had she would of seen that a product already existed, not just as a "raw product" but as a "cooked product", both she claimed didn't exist, and that she had somehow discovered it.

I think Marks will take a lot of money to set up, and maybe within 3 months that money will be gone. He's going to have to employ at least 1 or 2, tech guys to actually do the optimization, I don't think he can do it himself. He himself is going to have to spend serious money to get his company to the 1st position on google, or what's the point in hiring him. Then there's marketing, offices, PA/Secretary etc. His claim to be the top salesman in his existing company is largely redundant, as it's easier to sell when you have the backing of a large company behind you, when talking to major brands, they like stability. When your a one man band it's going to be a lot harder. I like Ricky get about 3-5 calls a day about web optimization, and generally their Indian, and I just hang up.

Not sure if your just trolling, looking at your post count, you do realise it's a show, and the sales aren't real in anyway.

no I'm not trolling, I missed the earlier part of the series because I was busy with my assignments and exams at Uni, so didn't spend too much time on anything other than that, but now i've caught up, watched all the episodes and managed to get access from the admin on this website to start commenting only today.

i had no idea that the sales aren't real in anyway. what's the use of that then? If the supermarkets don't actually buy. I heard in the boardroom Lord Sugar saying that supermarkets take the most margin and it's prime real estate, so I assumed all the recipes out there are competing for the same space and buy it from the supermarkets, but surely products get exhausted so the supermarkets are always willing to stock new lines?

Developing real new products takes months, if not years in both the product itself and being able to get through the door to retailers! Two days teamwork with fixed appointments is basically for entertainment value and organisational skills. The supermarkets were basically saying that if this was a real product, had gone through all the pertinent tests, had had proper market research into the viability of the product, had got proper costings, had got production lined up, and had tweaked the flavours and packaging, then that is what they would order!

Sorry for my earlier accusation, but it was a strange question!

In another series the teams had to make a new biscuit. One of the retailers was ASDA, and one team member promised them a massive "Harry Potter" themed marketing campaign etc. That was accepted and in the course gave the team a massive win. In the real world it wouldn't happen.

yes if they add some sort of testing also for GB and EU standards, it must take a long time to have a product approved before launch and offering to market. so the show is cutting all of that and just showing a scenario as if all of this was done then lets see how it would go.

Sir Alan said something to Roisin about the suppliers that can push the supermarkets to take their new lines, about having your foot in the door already, otherwise the supermarkets don't trust new suppliers. Its a shame its so difficult to enter this industry.

But you know all these hypothetical scenarios might mislead others that want to join the show, because they might think its easy to run a recipe supply business, candle supply, coach tours etc without considering the everything else, regulation and if these markets are really open to people such as them, so they business plans would be rejected just by them assuming its as easy to sell their products and services, as the previous series candidates showed it to be in the tasks.

I mean I know they must be all tough to put themselves through all this running around, backbiting, insulting interviews live on air and being away from home for so long. If they don't win I suppose other things they can do like reality shows and maybe if they have an engaging personality they can get a series of their own from the BBC, i've seen a couple of them have that opportunity. Maybe they manage to secure the funding for businesses just by coming on this show.
