MY local Sainsbury's here in west Wales has not even bothered to have the 12 - 18th editions out on sale yet

Someone on twitter has just tweeted that they couldnt resist buying the Radio Times with Wallace and Gromit on the cover - are they hidden somewhere?

What is it about tweeting a picture that you have a copy of the RT

The TV Times has some good content and is nicely presented just let down by the actual listings which are the worst of any listing magazine - Lack of channels and terrible print and layout.

They need to take a look at Total TV Guide for listing layout who have it just right IMO.

I bought my Radio Times in WHSmith in Newbury! London Only mind you. I am surprised no one has mentioned how different it is inside this year. Festive illustrations on every single page and the Font used for the titles of the main days is nice and calligraphic. They haven't used a different font to the regular font since the 1986 issue!

It all looks very lovely, if a little busy.

I also bought my Total TV Guide too. That looks very slick and very organised so I'm set up for the festive season now! Just need to buy my RT for my collection now and that's it for another year.

I went to my local Tesco in Cambridge today, specifically to buy the Christmas RT and they did't have it! I've always been able to buy it on the Saturday before. Oh well, I'll keep a look out for it over the next few days.

It doesn't have to be though, does it? Surely we've got a week or two left to discuss, you know, the actual Christmas Radio Times 2015. I know that traditionally people start to drift off the next year's thread as soon as they have their copy but wouldn't it be lovely if we spent the next couple of weeks talking about the content of this year's magazine.

RT was in our Sainsbury's today. The only listing mags missing were TV Times and TV Choice.

The only downside with Total tv is they have removed their Radio Guide which is a shame as I enjoyed this mag for that. A mistake removing them imo.

Tv Times 9/10 always has Father Christmas on the front, its a tradition. A good cover again from TV Times.

Absolutely. Hopefully everyone will this year? As soon as I get my copy i'll be posting my views.
Already looking forward to guessing next year's cover. We'll probably all go for animation the way things are going with it.

They used to be, until they removed their Radio Guide, I have now switched back to Radio Times. Feel let down by total tv, they have shot themselves in the foot. The only listing mag to list Radio, is Radio Times.

I was too busy yesterday to post this but I got mine at 7:50am, from my local Morrison's in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Britain's most easterly point.

For me, the interior of the RT is the most festive for a very long time. I have previously said that I like the change of font on the main days listings pages - something the RT hasn't done since 1986. The colourful illustrations throughout are cheery and I like the inclusion of snowflakes on all the Choices pages. I am a little underwhelmed by its film review pages, it seems to be getting a little more "less" each year and the actual listings pages with the daytime in the left column, doesn't work at Christmas because there is less space to include full programme details.

I like the cover, but do concede that, whilst it is fun and festive, it isn't a classic one and I prefer last years. I do worry though, that for a casual annual buyer, the £4.00 cover price may be a little offputting. You can get the same listings details for much less and that is perhaps something the RT needs to consider in the future.

One thing though, I've skimmed through the pages and can't find the picture quiz. Has anyone else found it yet?

Just spotted the Picture Quiz on page 62! I used the Contents page to find it! Yes, I'm in numpty mode. I'm allowed! It's Christmas!

I agree, that's why I stopped my sub and went for the RT offer (12 issues £1). Bought Total's Xmas issue though as waiting on the RT double issue.
