My final post on the 2015 thread. Just some thoughts on the Radio Times, and the telly offerings over the festive period. There is still one final biggie to come though, Sherlock, tonight.
As regards the Radio Times, the Christmas edition is the only copy I buy in a year. And it is probably more tradition that I buy it, rather than as a guide to what is on the tv. I read it when I get it, mentally register some programmes that I might enjoy and then shut it over, and probably, don't use it again. Tonight it will go upstairs, join the previous 12 Christmas copies I have collected in the past 12 years, and stay on a shelf on the bedside book cabinet.
My daughters don't, and never have, devoured the Radio Times as I did when I was younger. Of course, then, there were two magazines you had to buy, the Radio and TV Times. But I would read and read both of them in the run up to Christmas, learning almost the entire 3, eventually 4, channels schedules. To such an extent that when a neighbour popped in for a chat one day (neighbours don't seem to pop in for chats any more!) that my mum asked her to pick any channel, any day and any time and I would know what was on. I did, my mum was fair proud of me

. It was the Beachgrove Gardens review of the year for anyone interested. This must have been about 35 years ago now, I still can remember. But then the Radio and TV Times Christmas editions were an important part of the year for me. So, I'll next buy a Radio Times for Christmas 2016. More about that on the 2016 thread.
As for the tv, well in my last post of the 2014 thread I suggested that I watched less tv then than I had ever done. I think I beat that this year. Trying to think back at what I watched, and enjoyed, it was very little. The Golden Age of Childrens TV the Monday before Christmas, MasterChef the Professionals and Peter Kay on Christmas Eve were good. And Then There Were None was ok, but would have been better with a one off 2 hours, rather than dragged out over three nights imo, and I did record The China Syndrome late one night, which is a great film. I'll watch Sherlock tonight, more in hope than anything.
Other than that, I can't think off the top of my head what else stands out from the TV over this past two weeks. I really hope that BBC1 decide to change their Christmas night line up in 2016.
Anyway, I my mind, the Christmas Radio Times threads are the friendliest, most welcoming threads anywhere on Digital Spy, and one I always hope someone has added to. And that is down to all those that contribute throughout the year. So a big thank you to you all, whether it is organising one of the competitions that runs throughout the year, guessing the tv schedule, or just posting your thoughts.
I'll see you again on the 2016 thread, but I hope you all have a great 2016.
