Hi All, I have 2 panasonic plasmas, 1 in lounge the other in dining room.

I have a hdmi switcher, 3 inputs are, sky box, chromecast and wd tv box.

The output from the switcher goes to the input on a hdmi splitter. I have an output to the main tv which is linked with a powered cat 5 extender to the dining room tv.

When I select the chromecast or wdtv on the switcher it appears on the lounge tv, when I select the hdmi input on the dining room tv I dont get them showing, on sky box I get the same picture on the dining room tv and the quality is excellent.

Any ideas why I dont get the same screen when selecting the chromcast or wdtv box, it would be nice to watch netflix on the 2nd tv.

regards
Gary.

Are the two TV the same? If so then it doesn't seem likely it is the TV. More likely is the CAT5 extender.

Can you try the CAT 5 extender on the living room TV? See if that has the same issue with the Chromecast and WDTV boxes.

What video format are all the devices using? It could be something as simple as that, ie the CAT5 extender doesn't like the video mode the Chromecast/WDTV are using.

First thoughts, it's a bandwidth limitation somewhere in the system. The Sky HD output is a maximum of 1080i where as the WDTV and Chromecast are likely to be outputting 1080p.

If there's an option to set the resolution of the other devices to 1080i to match Sky then try that. If you get a signal then you know that 1080i is the max the system will accept.
