Strange comment imo. What on earth is wrong with a name pronounced Gor-DAH-na? I suppose Gordon-ah doesn't quite have the same ring to it but nevertheless

She hasn't broken her leg, she's damaged ligaments. She has not made any announcement about leaving the show either. Stop making things up.

Obviously not mentioning her accident, on air,as Ola was in the recorded group dance with Take That, and they were pretending it was live.

They've all "left the show". Their contracts have finished so they're no longer employed on Strictly.

Around May, if there's going to be a new series, the producers will start talks with dancers, who they want for presenters, judges and celebs and decide who they want back in the next series and which new people they want. It won't be up to Ola whether she comes back or not. The producers will decide if they want her just as they decided they didn't want James back.

Nothing to do with it being foreign, it just sounds harsh to me.

Yes, heaven forbid that they give up their pretence of "live" performances, just as they persist in pretending that the results show goes out live on the Sunday, rather than being taped on the Saturday night. We are not idiots, we know fine well what the score is.

My point is that Ola gave a lot to the show, was a big part of it for many years and now it looks like she is being swept under the carpet. I doubt very much that they will bring her back next year so some acknowledgment of her would have been nice.

To be honest, if she's going to be out of action for 9 months I'd be surprised if she's back next year - in 9 months time it will be the end of September and practice will be well underway and if she's been out of action, even if she's still been training in some way, then I suspect she won't be fit enough.

Shame for her really - although I suspect the BBC weren't that amused that she was off practicing for a Channel 4 show whilst still technically (I guess) contracted until the end of Strictly this year and injured herself

Not the best way to go about getting a contract for next year I would have thought but maybe she feels the writing's on the wall anyway for her and so thought why not...
