D'ya know, if Ann Widdecombe could make it to the quarter finals based entirely on entertainment, I think Katie Hopkins would make it to the final! Because Widdy's outlooks on life are far more vitriolic than Hopkins', whose issue isn't so much what she's saying more how she's saying it... And I can't imagine KH being a worse dancer. She physically couldn't be, she has two legs that function!

I think she'd be great - if she does it I just hope they don't waste her on Anton. Maybe one for Pasha?

I actually wouldn't mind her - it'd be a change from the usual 'everything's amazing' types. It would be worth it just to see Tess struggling to do her usual patronising bit after she danced . I think Claudia could probably cope with her pretty well though

New Tricks has been cancelled - as has Atlantis

Means that the following might be available

Tamsin Outhwaite - has done musicals and studied drama and dance - so might be a ringah
Denis Lawson - again has done musicals, and is uncle of Ewan Macgregor.
Nicholas Lyndhurst - rarely appears as himself in any capacity - so VERY unlikely
Larry Lamb - possible older male

Sarah Parish - would be great - but her Husband is filming "Defiance" Stateside - so unlikely
Mark Addy - comedy male - would be great

I would love Diane Morgan to take part (Philomena Cunk in Charlie Brooker's weekly wipe)
or Grace Dent.

In this months edition of Woman & Home Ruth Langsford says that she's read that her and Eamonn are top of the producers wish list for the next series and that she would definitely do it - she doesn't mention if Eamonn feels the same

Sorry I've written this from memory as I don't have the magazine with me.

I didn't watch him on CBB but from what I read, I hope that he doesn't come anywhere near Strictly!

Imho he is a foul-mouthed, low-life scumbag.

Read an article earlier today that had betting odds for those taking part in 2015.

Meaningless I know, but Mike Tindall and Graeme Swann were listed as the two most likely.

I think Mike Tindall might be more likely if his wife were to sign up - they have not had a married couple since the Logans

I don't think they'll mind if Zara doesn't sign up, as long as they get to show her in the audience supporting her husband every week, like they did with Rod Stewart and Billy Connolly when Penny Lancaster and Pamela Stephenson were competing.

Agreed - if Mike Tindall wants a place on Strictly, I suspect all he has to do is snap his fingers and the producers will come running - they've been wanting a 'royal' or someone connected to the royals for ages.......personally I hope he doesn't do it because I'd find the brown nosing and name dropping nauseating

To be fair to him though he has had a successful career in the public eye in his own right which is more than can be said for some of the contestants with famous connections they've had on......but I'm still not enthusiastic about the thought of him on strictly......I think they'd probably manufacture a 'journey' storyline for him. I think he could be a good partner for Natalie though....it would be nice to see her get a contender this year.

Mike Tindall's successful career is another reason for Strictly to sign him up - quite aside from his royal connections, there's also all his mates from the world of sport who Strictly would be delighted to see in the audience.

Like you, I also think that he's practically guaranteed a place on Strictly if he wants it and I have to agree that the tedious brown-nosing probably won't do Mike any favours with the voting viewers.

Of all the names mentioned so far, Mike Tindall seems the most likely to me.

I agree with your first paragraph - they've always liked having sporting buddies in the VTs of sports celebs too.

I'm not so sure about the second paragraph - I think it depends on who else is in the line up - but the constant brown nosing didn't seem to do Pamela Stephenson and Abbey Clancey much harm but then there's contestants like Mark Wright and Penny Lancaster who it didn't really work for. I suspect if Mike does it and he has even just a tiny bit of ability he could be in with a good chance of winning - as I said, I think they'll give him a 'journey' storyline and I think they'll probably want a male winner this year after two female winners in a row.

We've had rugby players for the past two years - would be nice to see another sport represented.

On loose women today Ruth said she would do it if given Aljaz to Tess.
