Definitely someone with a false limb, as the woman with no legs on DWTS almost won it. Maybe Adam Hills.

Also Ed Sheeran as he did that routine in his video recently.

Then some people who are ''trained dancers'' like Amelle Berrabah, Ray Quinn, or Cheryl whatshername on X factor.”

What about Michael Caines, the chef who has a prosthetic right arm?

I'd love to see former Eastender John Partridge but I reckon he'd be too much of a ringer for people.

I saw Helen Skelton on Sunday Brunch a few months back and they asked her if she would ever do a full series and she pretty much said no. It sounded like she didn't enjoy the Christmas Special that much as she was uncomfortable with how 'touchy feely' all the dancers are, invading personal space, having to hold hands, sit on each other's knees etc. instead of just standing next to each other like normal people.

Richard Osman would be one of my dream contestants too, but he has said in a few places he wouldn't do it he and Natalie would be fab together!! I live in hope that they may persuade Alexander Armstrong one day, as he did do that dire singing show on ITV, so presumable he doesn't have too high standards reality TV-wise

As a few others have said, I would quite like Ross Kemp too as I have no idea what kind of personality he would show - probably something like Jake, but whatever it was would be a nice change from 'media trained pop singer'.

what's the difference between ice dancing and figure skating?”

Ice dance is limited in lifts and time apart. Figure skating is single skating with spinas and jumps. Pairs skating they do spins, lifts and throws. Can be very impressive to say the least. Dancing on Ice was more akin to Pairs than Ice Dancing.

There's ringers and there's ringers and John Partridge is neither.
He is/was a professional dancer.

How about one or two who haven't had x years of dance training for a change. Lets make the pros work for their money!!

DVO said on several occasions before Strictly that she was one, didn't stop her.

She is simply lovely.

I was incensed when some moronic adults complained that their precious little darlings would be 'frightened' by her.
Young children are far more accepting of people who are slightly 'different' than their scaremongering parents.

She would be a welcome addition to Strictly imho.

.........and on that note, how about Justin Fletcher?

Last year I suggested Carol Cleveland as she was heavily promoted in the media with the Pythons show.

This was then picked up by the tabloids and actually appeared in articles - I assume instead of actual journalism tabloid hacks just read DS forums.

Some random names I found on Wikipedia.
The usual 1000 Brownie points and half-eaten Mars bar to any who gets a fake name repeated in the tabloids or celeb mags (OK etc)

Jack Carroll - runner up in BGT 2013 - is about to join the cast of Doctors (according to wikipedia) he has Cerebal Palsy and would be the youngest ever contestant
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Carroll_(comedian)

Owen Brenman - played the next door naighbour, Mr Sweeney, In One Foot In the Grave, and has been in Doctors since 2008
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Brenman

William Hague - leaving Parliament at the election

A juicy one would be Matt Di Angelo - see if any of the tabloids realise he has already done Strictly !!

That, or y'know, it was a coincidence.

Carol Cleveland was a legitimate name and I don't think its anything to do with owt said on this forum. As was pointed out at the time, why, of all the names we bandy each year, would they pick Carol Cleveland?!

I work in PR and liase with national journalists - believe me they don't have time to trawl through our threads. Names come from people like me, PR bods sending press releases and statements. No journalist worth their salt would pick a band from a forum and use it as a story.

P.S - isn't Jack Carroll wheelchair bound? Unless Caroline's coming back as a pro, I've no idea how that would work.

Please just for once let the show have celebs that are not so highly trained in dance,it would be so much more fun if they were all real novices, the voting public are to blame as often or not they vote for their favourite pro dancer as well.

I thought Thom this year would have gone far if he had the chance and it would have been a true journey and not such a foregone result. Caroline had had full dance training her feet were beautifully balletic rather unfair at the end of the day.

I cannot agree....sorry.

A show full of Judy Murrays, Scott Mills, Russell Grants, Jerry Halls, Anne Widdecombes and John Sergeants would be really funny.............for about two episodes.
That isn't the spirit of Strictly at all.

Strictly has never had a series of complete novices.

Claire Sweeney begat a Jill Halfpenny, from whom sprang a Patsy Palmer and Emma Bunton.

Novices can improve, the trick is identifying them....

A show full of Mark Ramprakashs would do though.
