I know it's not as clandestine as Big Brother but would the BBC really want celebs being so overt about taking part before the big reveal?

I don't think it makes any difference. Loads of the Strictly celebs are in panto in 'their' year - it probably adds to the bums on seatiness of it - especially the celebs who possibly don't expect to make it further than half way at the most.

My first reaction to Jedward was Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but having checked out their dancing, John definitely could learn to dance - not so sure about Edward.
Might need to confisticate the Makemeannoyingadon tablets, and cut down on the sugar intake.
I think they could be interesting, but maybe best with the stronger willed pros. It might be a bit like herding cats up a river.
There's even a possibility that with the right pro, John might win it.
I think Jedward would work on Strictly and in terms of the exposure it would afford the boys I can't see them saying no to any offer that comes their way plus it would gift Strictly the kind of demographic that it can only dream of right now. On the other hand it might alienate other sections of the viewing audience and the resulting heated debate will work wonders for the viewing figures!

Yeah my first reaction was no but having thought about it a bit I actually think they might be quite entertaining and it would be a first for strictly to have twins competing against each other wouldn't it?
Put it this way - I'd rather Jedward than Peter Andre and Michelle Heaton.
