I was watching Charlie Brooker's 2014 wip last night and they had a fantasy ballroom section with Diane Morgan who plays "Talking head" Philomena Cunk - and she was not too bad (looked hot in a red ballgown).

She is also a standup and has done Mock the week etc, so I was thinking maybe some standups might do Strictly.
Not males probably, as Dancing would not fit their "Control freak" image (maybe Jack Whitehall or Hal Cruttenden - but that is part of their act)

Female standups would be good.
Ava Vidal (used to be a Prison officer so plenty of fun to be had in VT's)
Andi Osho
Diane Morgan
Kerry Goldliman (also played Hannah in "Derek")
Susan Calman (although she is 4' 11 - maybe one for Kevin !!)

One person who I hope never does the show is, Peter Andre. There's something about him, that I don't like.

Yes - I think he could probably rival Mark in terms of insincere reality show clichés. Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if he did take part in the next couple of years - he keeps saying he just needs to 'find the time'

I think that he would be worse than Mark. Hopefully, he never finds the time to do it. If he does, I will have to mute the TV when he speaks.

What about an all stars series I would love that

I think you'd just have to look at any reality show that's ever done an all stars edition to realise that probably wouldn't be a wise idea.

I would actually love a series where non celebs take part. But i guess in this celeb obsessed culture we live in hardly anyone would tune in.

Both Dance X and So You Think You Can Dance featured unknown dancers, and both bombed. If people aren't interested in watching normal people who are actually good at dancing, I can't see there being a high demand for a show with unknown complete beginners.

I know, its a shame really. I loved So You Think You Can Dance.

I don't really care who the celebs are on Strictly to be honest, i just like seeing the dancing each week and prob watch more for the Pros these days anyway.

I thought the execution of those shows were both absolutely terrible though especially the latter because of the calibre of the dancers and the need to recycle routines from choreographers from the US version and Paul bleeding Domaine. On the other hand, Got To Dance has been a big hit for Sky because it has been executed much better. Come Dancing was a great little show in its heyday, and could be once again if it's done right. BBC though fall short when it comes to competitive reality outside of Strictly.

I was able to accept Mark Wright as he did genuinely improve.
If Andre was allowed anywhere near Strictly, how would the Live show floor manager be able to cope with a second camera crew following Andre around the dancefloor filming for his ITV 9 "reality" show??

We could always hope that Lucy Worsely's husband lets her compete; she's an unmitigated joy.

She's lovely and appears fairly often on BBC.

Why not e-mail them with your suggestion?

Thought Strictly Dance Fever wasn't bad though.

100 times worse, I should imagine. Mark Wright ended up being fairly tolerable for me, Andre never would!

Poss contestants:

James Thorton (actor, ex-Emmerdale) - I've always wanted him to take part, ever since he did Let's Dance for Comic Relief

Jack Whitehall - I think he'd prob be the only comedian who would do it, and I think he would be good, no idea if he can dance though!

Greg James - another Radio 1 presenter, but he's a fan of the show and going by the music video parodies he does for Radio 1 online he's not a bad mover!

Susie Dent from Countdown dictionary corner

Maybe someone from another of The Big Reunion acts? Somebody not too annoying.

Clare Balding - would probably never do it, but I can dream

If they're going down the TOWIE-type route how about Millie Mackintosh from MIC? I don't watch the show but I've seen her on other stuff and she seems fun.

Sarah Solemani from Bad Education/Him & Her

I second Adam Hills as well, I think he'd be fantastic. Put him with Natalie.

BIB - These would be brilliant - I don't know what their dancing would be like but they all have great personalities. I love Adam Hills - I would probably support him and Natalie even if he was the worst dancer ever

If BBC ran with your suggestions they'd have husband versus wife.
Other than James and Ola has that ever happened before?
As I've not watched from the beginning, I'm not sure.

Btw if the Abomination that is Andre takes part, I'd have to revert to X-Factor.
God forbid that happening.

If he appeared my Saturday nights will be spent sticking pins in my eyes, far less painful then watching him

My outside bets for next year - Tom Kerridge, lost a shed load of weight, and seems pretty popular with the Beeb and maybe Katie Piper

Kenny and Gabby Logan did it a few series ago. Also, Denise Van Outen and her then husband Lee Mead were asked to do the show in 2012. Lee turned it down as he didn't want to do the whole 'husband V wife' gimmick.

Thanks.

The Logans were before 'my time'.

I wonder if Lee Mead would do it now because he is already with BBC.
