Or else they're beginning with all the surprise names to get us interested and are saving those that have already been heavily rumoured until the end.

You may be right about Kellie's dancing ability, but to be fair, she wasn't exactly given much dancing to do in that CiN clip.

The only thing I remember seeing Kellie in was The Upper Hand when she was a child.

I second this. She is one gorgeous lady!

Didn't recognise Kellie's name, but she looks like another good choice. The BBC are sticking with the announcement that there would be more 'home grown' celebs this year. Agree with the comments about concerns about Kellie working on EE and doing the show.

Would love Carol or Naga.

That's always been the problem with BBC weather forecasters doing SCD (and there's been a couple of forecasters that would have been up for it over the year's - Particularly thinking of Tomasz Schafernaker) Because they are employed by the Met Office rather than the BBC, they tend to not be allowed to do things like SCD.

However, it's possible the rule's have been relaxed, I'm not sure.”

Just been catching up and ....WOW!!!

Ainsley did pop up in my "Twitter trails" but there was not a single clue surrounding him - so very well done SCD - keep up the Twitter ban!!!

And as for Kellie Bright - well, I'm over the moon! Love her in Eastenders and love the fact that, for two years on the trot now, they have supplied two of their biggest names. Hope she gets Pasha and does really well.

Re Kellie, love this clip in the very first episode of the Upper Hand. She has a little moment (at 7:25) where she almost forgets her lines, bless her!

Kellie seems lovely. She's my favourite signing so far. (Not hard though).

Kellie and Tristan pretty please

This line up is shaping up very well so far! It's nice to have three surprise announcements to start things off with, and three announcements that all good names and should have reasonable fanbases behind them.

Although I'd quite like to see Kellie with Tristan, I think she may get Kevin as I think they'd look good together and after Ali/Alj last year, the Ke/Ke logic wouldn't surprise me. Hope I'm wrong though.

Steph's a ringer, in any case - she's a champion Irish dancer!

I can't stand Sally Nugent. I don't know why, but I have to switch over every time she appears onscreen.

Irish dancing doesn't really bear that much relation to ballroom and latin dancing, I wouldnt have thought.

Well! You go away for 12 hours and 2 celebs are announced! So excited with Ainsley, he has a cult following and a great name! And Kellie, whilst I don't watch Eastenders, I know her and she's a big name from the show so that's very exciting too, although probably rules out Shane Richie. But yeah I am so excited by this year's line up so far three unrumored names who are all pretty well known and have never done reality TV before. Well done Strictly!

Have to say, those first three are pretty decent signings. Make's a change to have three names announced and know who they all are.

If one celeb is announced per day from now on, then we'd have the full line-up by either Monday 24th or Tuesday 25th (depending on 15 or 16 contestants). By comparison, last year we had the full line-up by Friday 29th, so not a massive difference.

(It is worth considering that there were a few days between one announcement last year, and we got the last three all in one go.)

As I've mentioned above, Kellie is a top notch signing. but does this spell the end for Tameka Empson this year? Can't see them having two serving 'Easties' on in the same series. The nearest they came was having Gillian Taylforth and "Jelly" Wallace on together...though they were both "ex's" at the time.

Is Tameka forever condemned by Strictly for daring to get pregnant?

I'm not aware of any background to any story here, but if she was being touted as a possible and then became pregnant, then she would have no automatic right to jump in at the next available series, even if it entirely suited her and her personal life (which would be a query anyway)

I'm not saying she had - I just mean that if a celebrity/cast member almost makes it on to the show, then I take it they are wanted. It would just seem strange to me that a "well you missed the boat" attitude would be adopted by the producers. They almost always have one Eastie one and, unless there was a falling out or schedule clash, why should one cast member deserve to be invited over another who has already been touted? Bigger name/draw perhaps - I mean, when Tameka was supposed to be on the show, Kellie wasn't even in EE.

Don't get me wrong - I have absolutely nothing against Kellie...just simply posing a question.

True about the difference I guesss. But 2 years it was a 5 day wait between the reveal and launch iirc, whereas by your calculations, If the launch is on Sunday, that would be 12.

I'm really glad that the BBC have decided to go heartland with the cast (thus far).

Chris Evans seemed to heavily hint that someone from Breakfast would reveal themselves tomorrow, but he could have been bluffing.
