I really like Frankie's hairstyle.

Kara and Alesha were winners (not just a finalist like Frankie) and never scored a forty and were of a better standard then Frankie. For me she was never going to be a ten either, her legs are too heavy, especially in latin (which her two dances were).

If she really wanted a forty in the final she should have picked one of her ballroom dances IMO.”

Alesha's Latin technique was generally quite poor and I think she was overmarked a lot. She only received high marks because she performed well.

I think the marks in the final were largely decided beforehand.

A bit like a superior Frankie then.

Alesha is still my fave SCD celebrity - I find it strange that anyone thinks that Frankie (or any of the last few years) crop of celebs even come close to her.

When was this? I don't blame Frankie for being annoyed at Craig, he over looked Simon and Caroline's imperfections but never did with Frankie, even though at times she was technically the best dancer.

frankie is a happily married mum with a career that is going places.

caroline is someone who appears fundamentally a bit damaged/needy and directionless. maybe she needed the 10s more.

I think Frankie was a really good dancer and I've always liked her. She was my favourite in the first few weeks but then she never seemed to improve. Performance wise I did expect her to be better, she just lacked the personality that was needed in some of the dances which is why I switched my favourite to Pixie because she just brought out a different character for each dance which kept my interest.

Ironically, when Pixie and Simon were in the bottom 2, although I loved Pixie, I really wanted Simon to stay and he became my favourite from then onwards.

Yes I agree that it was quite poor, very sloppy at times.
I think I said it here that Len overmarked Alesha too.

As bizarre a theory as that is it's not Strictly Comely Dancing so you could very well be right

Really? I thought she was easily better than Mark all through the competition and deserved her place, but what do I know?

Don't forget Chelsee Healey she never got a 40 in the final and she was much better than Frankie.

All these comparisons. I think they'd have validity if they were comparing the celeb with the same dance type, routine and pro partner. Something that's never going to happen.

You find it strange because you are biased. Many people have had better Latin technique.

I'd agree with that - Latin wasn't her strongest suit but she was overall much better than many dancers the last few year. She was still better at Latin than Frankie was though.

Yes, but Frankie isn't one of them - she and Alesha are pretty much on a par in terms of Latin technique I think.

Kara was far better than both of them.

If Craig had given a 10 just for the sake of it then it would have de-valued him as a judge. Actually agreed with him on this occasion. Frankie's last dance deserved a 9, Caroline & Simon deserved 10s. Simple.

The only dance of Frankie's that would have compared to that was the tango which, for whatever reason, wasn't danced in the final.”

Both the tango and paso were to music from musicals, neither of which really suited the dances IMO, it led to them being full of content, but somehow not the right atmosphere. I know Simon's AT was to a rearrangement of a song that was in a musical type film, but it had the right character about it.

Perhaps he felt Frankie wasn't a ten? She's a bit flat-footed, and has very little passion. Just does what her trainer tells her to...

Winner's interview.

You can see it on demand.

She did come across a tad petulant,

When watching the show I thought her and Kevin's reactions to the scores were very ungrateful on the night, but she said in the interview that all she'd wanted was a 10 from Craig, which explained their reactions to his 9s especially on her last dance, and I kind of understood why they were both reacting that way it was like "arrrrtgghhhh"

She also said she was the only one in the final not to get a 40, but I think I'm right in saying Mark never even got a 10!

To be honest she just didn't deserve a 10 on the night IMO. If she hadn't insisted on the silly bench bit, her Showdance would more than likely have got 40 and fully deserved it would have been.

The other thing I noticed in the interview was the discussion about being given the Samba for the final, but considering the lack of practise originally, it seemed an obvious choice.

9 is still a good score. I hate how she looked annoyed she didn't get a 10. She does not take criticism well.
Her dances were not worthy of 10s anyway and she was constantly overmarked throughout the series.

I hate how people here somehow managed to watch her for an entire series without picking up on the fact that she's quick-witted with a great sense of humour.

Why not? It wasn't like he said she was a horse; he said the dance with Kevin moving Frankie around him in a ring was like he was training a horse. Which is not a criticism of Frankie, it's a criticism of Kevin's choreography (and a valid one - that bench section completely broke the flow of the dance). More lifts and fewer benches and there might have been more "show" in the showdance.

And it seems a weird notion that judges should be *less* picky in the final. Shouldn't if anything they be more so, because only in the small details will you find the differences between the best of dancers?

Yeah she does, the whinnie was hilarious, even though Craig wasn't calling her a horse or horselike.
