Great show to end the series

Last night's show was one of the best to end a series.

Any of the three finalists could have won and the majority were happy whoever it was as there was no-one who was streets ahead of the others. For me that fact that Simon had to lead, while the two girls were led gave him the edge, but the public vote was for Caroline so it was the right result. It would have been right whoever it was.

The celebs group dance was great, showing off the memorable bits for each. Better than previous years.

And the announcement and presentation of the trophy was as it should be. No grumpiness shouting at people to get off, get back or leave the winners space. Just allowing all the participants to join in and congratulate the winners in their own way and hoist them on their shoulders. No attempt by Tess and Claudia to stop the celebrations so they could get the last word in as has happened in previous years. They just raised their voices to say what they had to to finish the show and allow the celebrations to continue. As it should be.

Totally agree.

Yup, I enjoyed it.

It flowed nicely, not too much filler, loved the group dance and I was happy with the winner but would have loved Simon to have got it too.

I thought that Tess was the best she's been, barely any talking to the contestants like they're 5 and kept the showing ticking over nicely. I'd be happy to see her and Claudia back next year.

Agreed, this series has had it's ups and downs - no Donny Osmond next year please - but the final show was spectacular, as the OP said Tess and Claudia were relaxed at the end and didn't try to control events, just went with the flow. Great entertainment.

The group dance is the bit I enjoyed the most.

That and Take That's ventriloquist outfits.

The group dance was my favourite bit.

Agreed, I really enjoyed it - so much more than the semi-final, which I thought was one of the poorest. Everyone put in such good performances, and improved on their original dances with no mishaps to spoil their chances. Caroline was a worthy winner too, her showdance was fabulous.

It was great not to have Brucie shooing eveyone off the floor at the end so that he could hog the camera.

Tess and Claudia did a great job, I thought.

Loved the show, I agree with the OP a great atmosphere for the final and I feel the right person won also no sour grapes camera hogging to stop the real emotion that all the dancers were showing

My favourite final in a while, so exciting with so many fab dances, and three terrific finalists.

Yeah beast final for quite some time. Very few nerves and some excellent dancing.

Highlight for me was Caroline's show dance, I've watched it a few times now and its so emotionally engaging and she is so lost in it, it nearly had this big lad in tears

Just watched the second half. Loved the group dance, the highlight for me was the fun element, the interaction of the celebrities, the whole happy feeling. Well done to all.

One thing I liked this year was that they (Tess and Claudia) allowed the winners to speak. In previous years they hardly got a word in edgeways because of the presenter hogging the limelight.

Totally agree. Loved the final. Good dancing, seamless compering from Tess and Claudia and superb playing from Dave Arch and his wonderful, wonderful orchestra.

Once Mark had been voted off, I relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the show because any one of the final three would have been a worthy winner. Good group dance; I had a chance to make a cup of tea while Take That warbled; and, best of all, there was a real feeling of camaraderie among the contestants that added to the feel good factor.

Ahh, I shall miss it!

Well I has something making my eyes water more than once

I loved it, even watched Take That with no FF I loved what Craig said about Simon, infact the judges comments about them all were lovely. Great to see all the celebs back. It was a lovely finish to a lovely season of SCD. Well done to Caroline and Pasha too

Must admit, it was better than I had anticipated. The first section was a little disappointing in my opinion. I found the judge's choices and the show dances rather underwhelming.
But the second section section lived up to it's billing as a final.
Overall, I think it fits somewhere midway in terms of finals over the course of the various series. Certainly not the worse, but not the best either. Caroline was a worthy winner, but the final would have been a better experience for viewers if the outcome had not been almost a foregone conclusion from the start. But that's nothing new either, we've rarely had a Strictly final that has been genuinely nail-biting.

Caroline and Pasha's show dance was the highlight, nice to see them take a gamble, I hope more do for their show dance next year.

Simon had a great run, for me he and Caroline ended up ahead, they both managed to up it a notch in the way they emoted their dances.

I feel glad for Caroline after what she'd woken up to in the Nazi supporting newspaper that morning, so uncalled for.

Really? I think a lot of people had Frankie ahead and Simon to possibly sneak it at the end.

Before the show started perhaps. But once the feed-back from social media began to filter through, and the bookies odds began to shorten (I think Caroline came in to 1-3 on towards the end) it looked like a foregone conclusion to me.

I would have liked more of a mix of ballroom and Latin and not sure how Simon got away with doing his charleston as the judges' choice (heaven knows what they would have given Jake ) but a great show nonetheless.

Sooooo much better without Brucie, especially the runners-up interviews and trophy presentation and brilliant idea to finish off with an final mini ITT on the red button with Zoe.

Hope the feel good factor of this series will encourage some interesting celebs to sign up for 2015.

After the distinctly underwhelming semi-final, I really enjoyed last night's show. Overall it was much better than I expected it to be

I've enjoyed the whole series, in a low-key kind of a way, this time. At least there were not endless weeks of the GBP voting "the duffer" on week after week. Yes, Judy Murray could have gone sooner but she didn't keep out anyone who could have won.

I enjoyed the final, any of the 3 could have won for me, with a slight preference for Frankie, because she looked so neat and petite and focussed at everything she did - I think the clopping around on boxes lost it for them.

It seemed to be a Dance Competition for the first time in a long time. Good.
